I was literally last night pondering what to do with my 4 mil sitting in my bank. Then this Toyota Tundra ERRRR Hotring Everon comes at the PERFECT time. As someone REALLY good at racing in this game from day 1, and a big NASCAR fan, this truck is WORTH THE MONEY. Kind of weird its allowed to race against Cup cars, but whatever. Maxed out, its a tad faster top speed and MAXES out on handling, way more than the Sabre. That handling is very noticeable on these new tracks. Kudos to Rockstar, these new tracks are REALLY well made. Waterway and Fort Zancudo are my favorites. Waterway is a great "short track" by Rockstar standards. The water just cresting over onto the track on the inside line of both figure 8 track turns is the type of design perfection creativity you usually only see from Player Created tracks. Its banking and turn radius are perfection. The truck can out-handle the cars that easily get out of shape on the low line here. The track has some subtle little difficulties to it, and I love it for that. Dont know why fools keep splashing into the water on the low line, it very clearly slows you down if the water swells a tad too high there. Fort Zancudo is like a Martinsville road course. Multiple Mville hairpins are a delight to outmaneuver the competition. Unfortunately you have to keep Catchup on this month so the idiots on these tracks dont destroy you in the turns as you take the fastest lines. These new tracks have several subtle little difficulties that can easily get you out of shape if you press too hard. Found out the hard way pressing on the final lap and screwed myself twice today. These new ones destroy the OG Sabre tracks. 

 

The truck itself offers a few more cool and sensible looking paint schemes than the Sabre has IMO, even with mostly the same sponsors. Setting races to 10 min worth of race time and having 15+ truck field is awarding 150k+ for 1st with 3X money on. Cant dominate as much as I can in open wheel races that have catchup off, but Ive had SO MUCH fun today with this new Truck Series! 

 

Found a group of clean racers while I was hosting, and racing Waterworks 3 wide everyone holding their lines in the turns multiple laps brought a NASCAR tear to my eye. Unfortunately the clean fest backfired for me on final lap 15 when we went 4 trucks door to door and bumper to bumper in a clump over the midtrack jump and I came out the loser on landing even though I was middle truck front row. The trucks handling is great, not so easy a noob can do it perfectly, but able to slide the truck a tad in corners and not have it spin out so easily.

I have no interest in yet more Rockstar antiquated contact missions, call them whatever dose you like. Play them once, tick the box, move on.

 

But they have done REALLY WELL with the new Hotring races!

 

The tracks are a complete redesign on the previous Hotring circuits, which are mostly full-throttle and dull. Taking your foot off the throttle and managing braking points is now essential because they are much tighter than before.  People who have condemned the Everon and everything associated with it are misinformed. Rockstar have actually thought this through!

 

The issue is the amount of mayhem with 20+ players because of the tightness and crossovers, especially with catch-up on. You can go from 1st to 15th very quickly, which is annoying if you don't like demolition derbies, but you can host yourself, find smaller lobbies, turn catch-up off and use non-contact if you want.

 

As a competent racer, I became very frustrated at not being able to hold a position at the front of the pack because of so many random elements, but Rockstar have got this right for casual players! The new Everon has a lighter touch, most of the tracks actually require skill and they are correctly showcasing the event from the main menu to get up to 30 players.

Man those Auto Shop Contracts are still completely broken... when are they gonna fix them?

 

When you join contract finales through the phone, you mostly get a black screen in the lobby and have to wait until the timer runs out. In some finales, you can spawn a few miles away from the host's shop, and without your car. Sometimes as a partner, you can earn the host payout, and some other times you just don't earn anything. Also there were instances where you would complete a finale without even getting to the exact destination point (just one player needs to get closer and the mission ends) but it's been a while since I've had that one so I guess they might have fixed it...

 

During the Union Depositary finale, sometimes players have different parking locations showing on their radar (where the black SUV is supposed to be at). After looting the vault, the first two NOOSE officers sometimes doesn't spawn, and when they do, they pop out of nowhere after a couple seconds and you don't even have the time to react.

I like this everon way more than i expected. It drives nice in the streets, reminds me of yosemite, maybe because they are both trucks, but from what i remember if i can compare,this one has better handling and that engine whine note is satisfying. But huge minus is advanced handling flag copied from hotring. Don't know much about nascar, would prefer camry based car more, but this one is not bad. It can also drift well. 

 

I got 10 levels by just playing bolingbroke bowl race solo and getting world record for some of the laps for 20 races needed for trade price. I didn't try other races and i don't plan to play demolition derby with cheaters added to the mix.

Right now Im using Off Road wheels and suspension set to 1 higher than the lowest to better absorb the curbs you have to cross over a lot in these new tracks to take the ideal racing lines.

I've already made about 4M out of this week just by playing Contracts and doing Auto Shop deliveries, it's a metric f*cktonne of money just for delivering a good sports car when those appear. It's often enough that you can be doing other stuff and deliver a car every so often. It's also made the Exotic Exports a lot more worth it.

PSA for anyone wanting to uh... skip... on PC: Don't do these playlists on PC, there is an extra anti-tamper service (R* Game Services Conductor, which manages all cash transactions) that consoles don't have (RDO does have it on all platforms) and it forces a cap on the amount of money you can get every X time with these jobs to tackle modders, it will not work if you do UD's back-to-back-to-back quickly as it'll hit a max threshold.

 

Doing them legitimately is the only way to reliably get your rewards on PC. This is one of the ways they tackle money modding, with an active watchdog/transaction processing online service soooo yeah.

I'd rather just do it normally, just thought I'd try it. Worked once and that was it, started it again, nothing loaded and the game froze. lol

I see what I did wrong, starting playlist not in the Autoshop. I read @Gridl0k's post after.. works. Just switched session to teleport back to Autoshop, started it and it worked..

 

Now just contemplating..

It also doesn't work doing them legitimately on PC. You get paid every other finale on average. This sh*t really needs to get patched. I lost so much money already and so much potential money from losing the motivation to play.

 

Edit: And ya instead of starting a new contract directly after the previous. I could instead come back periodically to play one. But thats so annoying to log in just to play for 30 minutes throughout the day. If I log in im in it for the long haul and ready to grind.

Seems to work really good - "watchdog/transaction processing online service" - when modders are able to place a 10k bounty on themself, kill themself and claim the bounty every second and doing that for hours while they are AFKing.

Is there a way to keep on getting the Union Depository everytime on the board? I surprisingly had it appear 3 times but waited for the cool downs respectively… any way to bypass the cool down?

An alternative method is to accept a contract, then immediately cancel it by calling Sessanta. This will refresh the contracts list on the board. Keep doing this until UD shows up.

Well bounties are a different system altogether, I never called it bulletproof, just said it exists.

You re right about that i just got full payment twice in a row from UD. I wasn't host, but maybe because someone left erlier because he died twice or maybe because he was much slower or host changed or idk.

Even the $165K or $180K with randoms are ok.
