Cayo Secondary Loot Question

I have a painting in the office. The secondary loot outside the compound is not so good. Mostly cash and one weed. I'm trying to get secondary loot before going to the compound since it's more of a hassle to get out the compound since the update unless you are leaving off that cliff. But if I get the weed and some cash from the airstrip first I'm worried I would have too little room left for the painting. If I grab 1 weed and say a whole bundle of cash or half the cash leaving just a little room in the bag, will I still be able to grab the painting in the office and will I still get the full value for it?

Paint is taking 50% of your space for secondary loot, so i wouldn't advise counting other loot before grabbing paint as it would most likely go above 50% so you wouldn't have space for painting. AFAIK weed is 40% of secondary loot space, coca is 50% as we all know  and i'm not sure about trash cash.

Cash is 25%.  You can try to fill your bag to 50%, but it’s risky, 1 bundle of cash too many and you won’t be able to take the painting.

Looks like the safest way to do this run is Compound first if I want a full loot bag. The weed is all the way at the airstrip. Nothing at the main docks but 2 stacks of cash. I'm considering just cutting my losses with this run and just grabbing the painting then leave. It's a bad one with tequila. That extra $50k is super quick to make up in Los Santos so not really worth the time worrying about elite challenge. Or since I'm not worried about elite challenge, I might as well do the Longfin approach and get only the weed first.

Tricky moment, got us trapped few times.

The only way is to fill exactly 50% of bag, but you need a bullseye I guess.

Yeah, screw the elite challenge on this one. It's not like if I take too much cash I can put some back lol.

There is a way, but can be buggy, new method of escape to main dock or airport, kill guard on exit, take bike, go straight through bushes kill patrol jeep driver, go on the edge of the fence, climb, avoid camera on the entrance to the main compound, then usual escape to the main docks, kill that guard and camera guarding loot in the left side stash house, kill the one guarding entrance to the docks, kill the one  in front of 2 guards facing each other where small boats are docked, but don't kill those 2 guards because sometimes other guard behind them is bugged being stuck in other stash house (one that you need 2 players to loot).

 

Take the nearest dinghy to avoid their vision cone and go to airport, if there is a loot across hangar you can kill guard near those stairs and the one inside stash house by climbing the wall across airport camera grid where you also must kill that guard and destroy camera, don't kill guards around main hangar and airstrip or you can but you must wait for the jeep going there on patrol and kill him as well or you'll get detected. If the loot is inside main hangar you can try and avoid guard in front of main hangar but if you kill him then you must wipe them all or the jeep going there on patrol will detect him. It seems complicated and i don't know if you can get elite, but if you're fast you  should be able to do it all in 12-14 minutes.

When i was doing Cayo heist is when i scope the island i try to find where are all the items like second loot are stored like cocain, weed, cash, grappling hook, guard uniform and guard truck once all my intel is complete i can plan how i approach the island and where can i escape safely most of the time i use the long fin approach on either the main or second dock (if the guards uniform are located there) then i move to the compound after i complete getting main target loot i go to my escape route like if i fond all cocain in the airport i go there easy as that but since they updated the cayo heist it a little more challenging because now guards can discover dead bodies i have to keep my guard killing to a minimum and not use the submarine approach anymore.

Oh and there one thing I forgot to mention if you going for a elite challenge stealth the only advice I can give you is take your time don’t rush it when i did the heist I always take my time and make sure that I don’t get caught when i escape from the island some time I do get the elite challenge but that because I been doing it for so long that i got really good at it but anyway take your time when doing the stealth approach do it right by take your time I did and never got caught so far.

A painting is exactly 50% of a bag. (and so is a stack of cocaine)

A stack of cash is exactly 25%.

Not sure about weed, but there is no way to fill your bag to exactly 50% with weed in it. Once you start grabbing weed, you can forget about taking the painting and just fill weed and cash all the way.

 

Your best option for the elite challenge is to grab those 2 stacks of cash at the main docks, which are exactly 25% each, and then the office painting, so your bag is full.

 

And no, you don't get auto-detected for taking the main target, it's just the new shift of guards spawning in at that moment, and they will see any bodies that were left in front of them. If you reach the main target with zero kills, there will be no alarm.

I ended up getting the weed and then the painting. Weed does not go to 50% more like 40%. With all the bonuses going on at the Agency, elite challenge was nothing to worry about. Never is really. 50K is quick to get with my bunker. I only got the weed for the extra cash since it's over 100k. I also learned to put the forklift where I can get back on it because falling from up there causes you to lose money. Not much but still annoying. I was a strictly Kosatka approach person before the update so still getting used to doing secondary first. I'm not liking the amount of time it takes me to get the Longfin though compared to how fast I can get the sub radar jammer. Now it all depends on what's at the main dock. If the main dock have good loot, then I do Kosatka. If not, Longfin if the hangar have better loot.

For a solo run I always go for two paintings, 2 coke or 1 and 1 for maximum profit and maximum bar. Even better if u get 2 paintings in office so you dont have to wander around the island.

Yep! Great post …. I’ll take a little extra time to grab more valuable loot only if it’s in the vicinity of my route… if not, to heck with it, I’ve left with a loot bag full of cash and the primary multiple times.

I meant to respond to this earlier. This is exactly my attitude ever since I found a stable and quick stealth route that worked for me. Even if there was only 1 stack of cash or nothing at all, I would just finish the heist and get on with a new one and not deviate from the plan. The route is more important than what's in it. On that same route, some days are better than others. The new update threw a monkey wrench in in my route but perhaps one day I will master taking care of both jeeps with confidence to leave the compound and I can get back to my usual. I really don't like getting the Longfin. Just my personal taste. Maybe I should just focus on practice taking care of the compound jeeps.

If I can find these two close to each other I plan my approach for that. But IF I get the scenario as OP posted I still would use the uniform and truck. On the way out I would steal a bike and the uniform should still work so you can pass the cones of vision for a small amount of time so you can drive safely to where the best of the rest loot is....

I agree the uniforms are pretty useful you can get past the guards with no problem whatsoever, I always have to find where the uniforms and truck location is when I do intel gathering of the island if I find the truck at the gates well I then switch to plan B I can use the hook or the two doors to enter the compound with the uniforms equipped of course but I have to be extra careful when I do the doors I have to find a code to unlock the door and I need to kill a few guards in order to find that code .

According to the information in the linked comment, the bag can hold 1800 units. A painting is exactly 50% at 900 units. A full table of weed is 675 units and each button press is 75 units. A painting plus a full weed table plus three button presses at a second weed table will give you (900 + 675 + 210) 1785 out of 1800 units. A unit of cash is the smallest you can pickup at 50 units and is more than the 15 units of space left in your bag. I haven't tested this, but I'd like to assume that this would count as a full bag.

Aye I do like this counter though... takes a bit of setting up to conform to your particular heist loot and stuff, but can be handy in knowing exactly what to take, or how many clicks are required.

I never tried Guard Uniform just because i dont "need it". I Never check any other locations aside from Airfield and North Dock.  Even if the loot may be better somewhere else its just not worth the time for me. i wanna start and finish the heist as fast as i can with the best possible loot i can pick up at those 2 locations.

 

I only pick paintings if i have 1 cocaine i can loot before. if i have 2 cocaine i avoid the painting.

 

i just wanna do it quick and take the best take i can and get out under 15m.

 

best outcome is i have good secondary loot at airfield + hard mode + elite challenge.

My new scope I have another painting but at the main dock one lockup with 2 weed and the other 2 coke. Fine time to get a rare painting. I'm only going for the 2 coke. Which means I have to deal with the jeeps.

This is why I decided to only steal paintings and coke, I could have just said coke, but it gives me m ore flexibility. In this case if there's no coke at the north dock I would steal the easier coke and then go for the picture. Or maybe in the moment go for two coke.
