First try to lower the graphic settings from your menu to see if it runs better, specifically shadow set to medium or low and view distance to 1. Or everything set to medium/low, try that. (Don't touch the video mode setting though, only the other ones.) Your pc might not be able to run it. Β To check cpu and ram you go to start > gear icon (system) > about settings. Or you go to File Explorer "This PC" > right click properties and it shows you. Only tell me "Installed RAM and Processor", the others are not needed. Β Here's a video how to check your graphics card on Windows 11. Right click Start > Device Manager > Display Adaptors Β Edited February 26 by 44Orca

What about lowering Video Mode resolution to 1280x720? If it doesn't work then yeah there's no other option. Your PC is not capable of running it. You will have to check your motherboard as well if you are able to upgrade, perhaps you might need a new PC, I don't know your full specs so I can help you out. Moncastler
2 hours ago, FRA_Arsonist said: i have aΒ Intel(R) UHD Graphics 600 so do i need to upgrade? Weak GPU, but you should be able to run the game at 1280x720 at 30FPS. As 44Orca said, turn your graphics options down (particularly shadows) and make sure that View Distance and Detail Distance are both set to 1. Also I would download FusionFix and the Ultimate ASI Loader (https://github.com/ThirteenAG/GTAIV.EFLC.FusionFix), in the .ini file you can easily cap your framerate to 30 FPS. A constant 30 FPS will feel better than a variable 30-50 FPS on a display that hasn't any form of variable refresh rate. And if you have the Steam version, make sure that the Steam overlay is enabled and that the Steam screenshot is binded to a key. Β One thing that may also help you is updating the graphics driver, with the new Intel Arcs discrete GPUs Intel focused more on display drivers and I would imagine that even integrated GPUs saw some benefits. You can download it here: https://www.intel.co.uk/content/www/uk/en/support/products/80939/graphics.html#211968 Β And another thing you may consider if you still have issues, try DXVK (which translates DX9 calls to Vulkan equivalent calls). While I generally don't recommend it on weak PCs as you may just lose performance, Intel GPUs are known to have issues with older APIs (DX9 and below in particular) but they're generally good with DX12 and Vulkan. FRA_Arsonist
so i kinda worked and it ran smoothly for a minute and then the game screen went black and crashed Β
Moncastler
So you've installed FusionFix + Ultimate ASI Loader and updated your graphics driver? Also, have you done something specific (like going inside an interior, driving into a barrier, etc.) when the game crashed or it seemed random? 44Orca
@FRA_Arsonist I think the best option is really to get a whole new pc IF you can. The experience you get won't be that good with the game on low settings and with lag spikes. Doesn't have to be expensive if you only looking to play older games! Β At least that's what I did back then. Edited February 26 by 44Orca

Β 1 hour ago, FRA_Arsonist said: so i kinda worked and it ran smoothly for a minute and then the game screen went black and crashed Β Can you search for Device Manager in your Windows? When you search it please open it and tell me what you see under "Graphics Card" and "Processor" (or CPU) tab? (Ignore that my thing is in other language) It should look something like this: Β Theres very high chance that you have other Graphics Card in your computer, also tell me what's your Processor/CPU If it's Celeron then theres your main problem, this CPU is pretty much usseless and I don't even know why it exists on the market (despite hardware testing purposes)
Moncastler
7 hours ago, FRA_Arsonist said: i have aΒ Intel(R) UHD Graphics 600 so do i need to upgrade? I honestly thought the UHD 600 was pretty much the same as the UHD 620, so that's why I told you that it was "playable" at 720p 30FPS. Actually the UHD 600 is much weaker than the UHD 620 and it's usually bundled with an Intel Celeron which is an awful combo that will never be able to run GTA IV at a decent framerate. As PolandMountain told you, you can try to see if your laptop has a dedicated GPU but I highly doubt you have it because laptops with a Celeron CPU are generally very cheap and it wouldn't make much sense to increase the cost in this market segment. Atm even a PS3 would offer a significant more enjoyable experience, if you want to play this game on PC you'll have to replace your laptop.
