What do you guys think about cross-dressing and trans/non-binary Online Protagonists?

This may sound cliche, but I really hate the fact that male characters have more realistic-looking clothing, but other than having ass and boobs, woman Online characters are often stuck with awfully shaped clothing or we don't even get to have the good clothes at all.

 

Hogwarts Legacy has non-binary characters and you can choose their builds. Trevor in GTA V can wear dresses, so why can't my woman character wear body armor without her boobs shaping out??

 

EDIT: Before somebody tells me to just make a new character, I have both genders. But, I'd rather have the gender switch on the go (via character editor), instead of building another one.

Okay, it seems like your feedback stems from GTA 5's online experience which by many people's standards, have horrible choice of clothes. They either are too tight or too loose and the ones that actually fit well and look good are rare. The only clothing that looks good on female are the ones from the original release in 2013.

 

The problem with female clothing in GTA online is that both male and female are of the same height with the same shoulder width. But the clothing then has to account for smaller waist and bigger breasts and the attempt of trying to make the clothes look "feminine". They gave up in the latest updates with copy+paste hoodies, sweaters, and shirts, they look and fit exactly the same regardless of gender.

 

Here's a joke: female characters in GTA online are already non-binary, they look like both men and women.

 

I think your suggestion has already been implemented in Red Dead Online except for switching genders on the fly. The majority of clothes in RDO look good and fit the female body well, because female characters in RDO are shorter than men and have a much smaller frame. Character build can also be made to look like you have a flat chest, because there are actual women with flat chests.

 

I don't know the implications of switching genders on the fly though. There is a reason deeper than simply not allowing it, perhaps forcing you to play the game twice. I've known a few people who spent an extra 500 hrs and hundreds in shark cards because they couldn't be bothered to grind money on both characters.

I feel like they should go the saints row 2 route of having the characters gender be slider based and have the clothing be universal. Every clothing item was available to either gender, and it worked so damn well. Male, female or anyone else was possible to make.

Its 2023..its been time for that plus R have become more inclusive so I believe we will see such options

After seeing every GTA Online character with the same androgynous look, i'll be glad to see some clear cut "man" and "woman" characters, animations and clothing.  I know it's easier/cheaper to make clothes all fit to the same rig, it just looks sh*t though.

The GTA community lost their minds when it was revealed R* was including a female character. I can imagine them having brain haemorrhage if R* ever adds a trans/non bin option.

i think its just going to be like every other game nowadays 

no male or female gender option but just selecting a "preset" and adjusting it from there

I do hope that they take from RDO and give us more body types (and make the women actually look like women)

having a fat character, skinny character, or a jacked character and maybe the ability to select height from a limited range aswell (without affecting hitboxes)
