BloxedRetro
I'm trying to get Independence FM to work on Steam Deck however I encounter 2 problems. Firstly, there's no GTA 4 folder in the documents section but there is GTA 5. Secondly, when I create a folder and put music in, nothing works. Self-Radio in GTA V works fine on Deck. Β If anyone has got Independence working on Steam Deck, let me know please. Thanks.
44Orca
@BloxedRetro Β Wouldn't it be similar , this solution? But I assume you tried placing them twice, also in the appdata folder? Β I don't know just trying to help, if I made it work right there for me just for that person, that's most likely the solution I think. I don't have steam deck, I don't know how it works there but since you mentioned those folders thought it might be similar. The issue likely is that the game is checking the compdata folder and no music is in the music folder. To fix it put music in the compdata folder from desktop mode or delete the music folder in that compdata folder for the game and create a symbolic link to the folder where you store your music. If you haven't already, there's thisΒ reddit post saying it is "compatdata" within steam directory but there's also a few other locations people say in the comments. And this. Also game's directory, that could also work who knows. But have the mp3 files in both of those places (maybe including game dir) to see when will it work. In-game don't forget to complete scan. I've tried about 10 or so tracks. I'll give those links a try, thanks. 44Orca

You can try only with 3 but yeah oke, tell me if it did. If not then someone else will help out perhaps who also has steam deck.
Moncastler
I don't own a Steam Deck, but I have used Linux-based distros before. To reach the correct directory, open the file manager and make sure that an option like "Show hidden folders" is enabled. Then you'll have to go here: /home/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/12210/pfx/drive_c (12210 is the AppID for GTA IV Complete Edition) There you'll find all the usual Windows folders, so just follow the usual instructions to put your music in the correct folder. Β Essentially each game that uses Proton has an "emulated" C:\ drive with a Windows-like folder structure to store saves (and eventually grab files from a specific location, like in this case). 44Orca
