cant switch games

I recently migrated my gta 5 account to my xbox s with no problem. However i noticed that i had accidently downloaded gta 5 online instead of just the normal gta5. I deleted the online and downloaded the new one,but now when i go to do online play it will show my character at the beginning of the online play but when i go to actually play it makes me create a new character. Is there any way to get my saves onto this other gta? I know how to update save game in story mode but its not letting me do it for online mode. Any suggestions. thanks
