Blue carpet
What games would you consider have the most satisfying gunplay? For me it would be F.E.A.R., Max Payne 2 & 3 and Resident Evil 4 there's other games that have great gunplay but for me these are the best I would say F.E.A.R. PC version is number 1. Jason
MP3 as mentioned, RDR2 as well I think feels great shooting wise. Before it turned into a mess a big reason why I played Rainbow Six Siege was cause I thought it had the best gunplay out of all the competitive shooters as well. For a curveball pick I'd put Warframe up there as well tbh. It's got a sh*t ton of weapons and not all of them feel good to use but some of them, particularly the projectile ones, feel really, really good. 44Orca
Aside the ones mentioned above by others, (F.E.A.R. I also think has the best one) Doom 3's gunplay was also really great, especially the shotgun. And Metro Last Light also to me had satisfying gunplay. Other than that I think Far Cry games have as well. Edited February 1 by 44Orca Blue carpet
Krooked_
I think Left 4 Dead 2 still holds up really well when it comes to the gunplay. The chrome shotgun and the AK-47 especially are probably one of my favorite weapons in any game. Just landing headshots on the infected with the AK is super satisfying. In terms of how guns feel it's nothing special but the ragdolls and dismembered still make that game feel good to play. Despite it spawning a million clones I'd still say it has the most satisfying pipe bomb out of all the co-op zombie shooters. Nico
GTA IV and Mafia 2 did gunplay pretty well IMO. I haven't played a lot of RDR2, it gets universal praise but I haven't had a lot of interest to finish the story, honestly. Mafia DE had decent gunplay too even if it borrowed too much from Mafia 3. Only thing I hated were the f*cking AI molotov throwers, damn things weren't even broadly used before WWII when the game is set. Even in interiors you could get your ass burned. But aside from that, I liked the guns in that game too. OG Mafia surely had great gunplay for its era but it's just poorly aged by now. The Tracker, Blue carpet and Algonquin Assassin 3 Did you see the frightened ones? Did you hear the falling bombs? Did you ever wonder... ...why we had to run for shelter when the promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue sky?
Archangelsky
RDR2 - I think the guns feel really nice and the ragdoll effect and animations on the npc and that you can damage then also plays into it. BF1, BF3, BC2 all really good for me. Medal of honor Allied Assault - the K98 sniper rifle is perhaps my favorite weapon in any game. I for sure agree with the others that have mentioned Mafia 2, one of my favorite games of all time. Not to hard to master in terms of weapons, but the recoil could play some tricks on you especially the tommygun. Blue carpet
lndex
From a recent game I've played and put some time into, Battlebit Remastered has some really nice gunplay and is quite satisfying plonking people at longer range w/ snipers. Also, the weapon recoil is balanced, and there are a variety of weapons to unlock. If you've been a fan of the Battlefield games, it's definitely one to look at. You just need to get past the low-poly visuals. Edited February 1 by lndex Blue carpet
Dock
Off the top of my head, over the years I've enjoyed the gun-play in: PAYDAY 2 (bullet spongy sadly but its still quite fun imo) Killing Floor 2 Hotline Miami 1 & 2 (idk if these count lol) Mafia 2 & 3 Max Payne 3 RDR2 CoD Zombie games like World at War & Black Ops 2 A demo for an indie game called Selaco I would add Rainbow 6 Siege to this list as well, but its got a fairly high learning curve since they've reworked a lot of weapons for game balance, so it wont be for everyone in its current state. Wow I'm surprised someone mentioned MOHAA one of my favorite games of all time and I love the K98 sniper rifle too. I always picked the Axis for MP for that reason you can really own with that rifle and I love the way it sounds. A lot of people complained that the second game relied too much on using guns rather than melee but I loved it. The levels were also bigger and it forced you to be quicker and more aggressive in your approach. I'm not really into indie games, or rather I haven't played that many, but these two are one of my favorite. Daz

They don't throw too many enemies at you at once, but each combat area feels like a puzzle, and the gunplay itself is very impactful and the most realistic feeling I've ever played. It's a shame many people hate on it because of the story (which is great if you go into it with an open mind). The gameplay is phenomenal. Daz
-Escape From Tarkov (Despite all the bullsh*t that made the game worse over the years) -PUBG (Everything else about the game right now is complete sh*t, but they nailed the shooting and feel of getting a kill. And that is all that kept it going all this time) -Rainbow Six Vegas 1&2 (100% unbeatable) -Battlefield 2, Bad Company 2, BF3 and BF4 -Hotline Miami 1+2 Older: -Goldeneye -Hitman 2, Hitman Contracts -Die Hard Trilogy (Part 1) -SOCOM US Navy Seals 1+2 -Max Payne 1 and 2 All I can think of atm. Honourable mention: Source Engine games. CS:S, L4D2, etc, they had the guns down great, with great sounds, despite no ADS, which I was fine with. But they did lack the accuracy and was not as satisfying as other games above when it comes to feeling like you are shooting into a nice lump of cheese, as opposed to shooting an ememy that feels like they are made out of paper or did not react as well like other games. Good ragdoll is vital. Edited February 3 by Daz lndex and Blue carpet
smokeless6
There are many titles I could name, but I'm going to go sideways a bit here with my answer. Way of the Hunter https://store.steampowered.com/app/1288320/ It's a hunting game, released last summer. I've never fired an assault rifle, or a submachine gun, or any fully automatic weapon. But I've been shooting bolt action, lever action, break action and pump guns for many years. This feels right. So while this might not fit in the OPs question about gun play, it currently has my favorite guns to shoot. There's a neat ethical energy mechanic, where the game displays impact energy in joules, and you can see in real time how wind and range affect it. In the upper right you can see this shot at 203 yards with a .308 would deliver 3,100 joules at impact. But at say 300 yards, that energy might be 2,500 joules. Matching this energy at impact to the game you are targeting is key for making ethical, clean shot harvests of the animals in the reserve. I also play Call of the Wild, which I don't feel matches Way of the Hunter in terms of fidelity with these sorts of weapons, but it's a great game anyway.
