Looong way off I know, but where would you like GTA VII to be set?

It probably won't be out until like 2040 lol but still. I hope it doesn't go back to Liberty City, it'd be nice to see how the place has changed since 2008 but following the same old pattern (Liberty City, Los Santos, Vice City, repeat) would be boring. I wouldn't mind seeing San Fierro or Las Venturas again but a completely new city would be better IMO. Maybe one based on Chicago this time? It's the third-largest city in the US, it should've been represented in a GTA game by now. Or San Diego, Houston etc? The possibilities are endless. Maybe even a non-US city, although I doubt it would happen and might not work.

I would love GTA VII to be set in either San Francisco or Las Vegas. We had them as San Fierro & Las Venturas in San Andreas and I believe both of these two cities would make for a good foundation.

It needs to be the entire country. That sounds stupid but I don't see where else they could go at this point. The next iteration of GTA Online will supposedly have new cities added through updates over the years. Rockstar can just port those into the next game, up the detail, and fill in the blanks. I know that's a bit of an oversimplification, but still they can probably work it out by 2033.

My guy technology advancements have been slowing down. There's no way they'll go from struggling to fit 50 sq miles of content to the over 3.8 MILLION sq miles of the entire USA

San Fierro. Vice City is already up for 6, and I'm up for another darker game, and it's a long-time coming since we've had tropical destination for the past 10, and probably when GTA VII comes out, almost 20 years.

 

I honestly have an idea for what I'd love the plot of a San Fierro GTA to be about, incorporating the entire North of San Andreas, including Sierra Nevada and whatnot. Maybe when all that is done we could go to Venturas again which could work well for Online, however I'd want to see a focus on Northern San Andreas and San Fierro for the next title, at least do 4 out of the 5 major cities of old before focusing entirely on new ones, maybe put a few new ones such as one based on Sacramento in VII alongside SF as a bonus and to show how there are more cities and please those who want new cities.

Mexico and the USA (Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas) I want to see a story about drug cartels. Obviously the map condensed to get the best areas out of all of those.

 

continuing the "Americas Concept" that GTA VI started.

And also a 70's Story DLC but only a small part of the map.

I'd like to see a new rendition of San Fierro, same goes for Las Venturas but I'd rather get San Fierro first since I think it's the more interesting place of the two, unless they decide to have both cities in the same game which would be fine. Other than that I'd like to see somewhere new like Carcer City or an entirely new city altogether.

I'd imagine that'd just be from the South of America since VI is in Florida. Only makes sense to expand on what's already there, so go from Florida and work outward

I've already said I want San Fierro however this is less for GTA VII and more just in general.

 

The State of Nevada. All of it.

 

Las Venturas would obviously be the main city, however it'd be a massive map, filled with flat deserts, mountains and small truck-stop towns. Fort Carson would obviously be there as well, standing in for Carson City as State capital. Because of how big Nevada is and how few towns / cities are there, you could literally have a recreation of every major city and town in Nevada, ofc with their own GTA twist. Imo, the game would also fit well into GTA Online, as the casinos and all the free space gives alot of opportunities to create new content. 3 cities to work with rather than just 1 in current online. Imagine how big the map would be too. Driving from Carson to Vegas irl is just under 7 hours, so you'd have to drive for 14 minutes in the middle of the desert to reach the city. Alot more immersive imo.

I like it set in 1999 but in terms of State I don't know but I love to see it in Y2K era for the aesthetic and the satire of the panic.

 

If anybody doesn't know what the Y2K aesthetic is this video explains it well I'm very nostalgic for this era.

I always wanted to see Chicago and Detroit, possibly as two cities placed in west and east edges of the map with Lake Michigan and state of Michigan (with cities of Grand Rapids, Ann Harbor, etc.) between them. Of course, shrinked to GTA scale, but similar to San Andreas, giving us different feels by depicting discrepancies between rich Chicago and poor Detroit.

A game set in 1970s HD Las Venturas focusing on the mob would be pretty interesting I think. As much as I like the modern day setting another period piece GTA would be refreshing as hell.

Liberty City with the map expanded to include an embellished Atlantic City(rivaling irl Vegas or Macau) and Washington DC. Have the game be centered around political conspiracy running from the White House to the mob in NYC/Jersey. The end game either being toppling a corrupt White House or depicting the rise of one of the protagonists from petty street crime in their youth in NYC to becoming the president later in life, taking place over 20-30 years with time lapses to make it feasible from a developmental standpoint

I think a city based on Tokyo would be awesome. Tokyo is absolutely massive, incredibly varied, an incredible sight (particularly at night) and has the kind of scale that a GTA of this period would need.
