What Cars Deserve a Newer Model in VI?

List past HD universe GTA cars you wish to see newer models of, GTA V cars based on concept cars that should be based on later production model, or cars from 3D and 2D you wish to see a return.

 

Keep in mind that we are not talking about replacing existing models unless it’s concept cars, special vehicles, or military vehicles. So don’t argue over whether to keeping the older model. In real life older cars don’t vanish when new models come out.

Sure, but Rockstar has removed cars in past GTA games before and replaced them with different models. Just look at III, VC and SA; all 3 games share the same cars, but they have different models in each game. 

This doesn't include certain vintage cars though because we still need older cars

I didn't make this topic to have people talk about R* development decisions and lores, so just leave this part out. Otherwise half of the comments will end up becoming whether existing old design or future new designs are better.

It’d be cool if we had both models of a same name, but it would probably be jarring to see, for example, a Manana based on a Cadillac and another Manana but this time based on a Chrysler K car. If we do have newer and older versions of cars ingame though, I hope the older ones don’t get slapped with a “classic” badge like come on that just seems really lazy. 

On the topic, I think it’d be pretty interesting to see the Regal come back from GTA 1. Especially so because Buick made a car called the Regal. I know it would probably be a bit silly but, considering that both Pontiac (irl) and Imponte (gta equivalent of Pontiac) both make a car called a Phoenix, it really makes you wonder. Would a hypothetical Regal be a Willard?

I don’t know if you know anything about SAIC Regal. It’s much smoother and less aggressive than 2001-2003 Regal. Would be cool if we can get a blend of both car as a new Willard.

Isn’t that the one that’s just a Holden commodore but with Buick badging? Ngl it’s a shame we never got that in america

 

Idk if it’s even supposed to be a Buick, like yea they had regal sedans in the early early 80s but everyone online says it’s a Volvo 740. I don’t see it though, it just looks like a generalized 80s boxy car

While I do think some cars should get a newer generation,I agree that it shouldn't replace the old one,since it's realistic to see different generations of the same car on the streets.I like how in GTA Online we have both the 60s, 90s, 2000s and modern Ford Mustang,the 70s, 2000s and modern Dodge Charger,2000s and modern Bentley Continental,different versions of Porsche 911 and Honda Civic, etc.,so I think they should keep it that way in GTA 6 too (the only cars that I would remodel would be the Feltzer, Comet Retro and Brioso R/A,they should make stock versions without those ugly bodykits,and make bodykits a customization option at the mechanic).

No, Commodore is Chevy Caprice/SAIC Buick Park Avenue. 2004 - 2007 SAIC Regal/Lumina was based on 6th gen Century/New Century.

 

One is proceeded by Cadillac CT6, the other one is proceeded by Chevy Malibu.

 

I'd love to see original Regal returning as a 960 or a new S60 tho. Or maybe a Polestar, Vulcar deserve some love

 

IDK why would you care if they use a real car name on a completely irrelevant car. So I wouldn't go into that.

I think the Adder and Nero deserve more accurate models but I'm a huge Bugatti fan so maybe I'm biased

The Asterope in gta v is based off 2007 Toyota Camry, I do feel like we should get a new camry aka asterope but I still see older camrys like the one in v on the road. Now the 3d model of the Asterope itself is a tad dated, but updating the model doesnt have to mean it has to be newer(in terms of the generation) Just like the Baller it could have 2 or maybe even 3 models each being a different generation.

I want the PMP600 to make a comeback, I don't know the IRL model because I can't cars, but a modern version of it should come back.

 

The Schafter also needs to make a comeback as a vehicle based on the Mercedes W206, even though I prefer the W204.

PMP600 supposed to be Chrysler 300, I think the public opinion now is it should return and replaced by model based on high performance 300S Hemi or 300 SRT8.

 

P.S. I should have put down “do not recommend replacing existing modern models with other modern model/brand”. I didn’t because I don’t want this thread to be as restrictive as the other ones. But I don’t think Shafter is a good fit for 204 even if we only consider existing 2D nameplates and Benefactor models.
