Something morbid this time...Terorrist attack in LC

Liberty city has major terorrist attack before game setting, is not explicitly stated where or when as I know or what is actually was.

Im curious if somebody found location of that attack. I always suspect its actually Yusuf Amir building site as mimicking building over destroyed WTC.

have you wondered why are there so many damaged/under constriction roads in the city? probadly because of that

Are you talking about the one that caused the bridges to be closed at the start of the game? I think it's just a scare and they closed the bridges as a precaution, especially so considering how Johnny/Luis can go between them freely.

If you're talking about some 9/11 type event before the events of the game like what one of the political ads implied, idk where it would be but probably southern Algonquin like where the WTC used to be. But there's no trace of it whatsoever cuz irl, it was still a big dumb pit where the WTC used to be back when the game came out

I think the construction area in south Algonquin is supposed to mimic the area where the World Trade Centre had been that was under construction at the time. But I don't think they tried to imagine or represent the actual attack/actual buildings destroyed.

There's a lot of monuments etc but I'm not aware of one that specifically represents that. What/where do you mean?

Yeah it's stated by Roman that the reason Niko can't cross is because they're checking IDs/visas due to a terrorist scare, and being there illegally he doesn't have one so he'd be risking getting arrested/deported. Even though the bridges are also implied to be completely closed by the roadblocks and some of the news bulletins I think it's really meant to just be there's heavy security on them. It's just to represent the continued paranoia about terrorism after 9/11 not a more recent attack.

Based on ingame internet, these bridges are closed for everybody. They are stating that people are separated via bridges and people are hating it.

There goes magic trick or most rockstar fans tantrum, Liberty city is not real, so even Ice rink can be ground zero .

I know, but it's inconsistent because Roman also talks about it as if they're not completely closed (he just advises Niko that he shouldn't cross because he doesn't have a visa) and Johnny and Luis can cross. And you can just walk across the pedestrian walkways of the Algonquin Bridge and Broker Bridge with no blocks (even though you obviously get a wanted level for it). I think it's not perfectly done but a middle ground between them being totally closed and just heavy security/limits on who can cross can be assumed.
