Mystery Blue Marker

Some context. I left my Del Perro apartment and noticed a blue marker flashing. Thinking it was possibly a car to export I headed that way. It soon stopped flashing and upon arrival there was nothing to be found. If anything, the marker is slightly smaller than normal for the drunk guard/car/drug deal. I cross referenced with the GTA Web map but nothing. Hzd a second look but nothing. Spawned the Sparrow to check the roof then after it disappeared.  Its on the same road as Ammunation in Harwick, just a few blocks west

I too have had a random blue blip that disappears before I can get to it. It’s happened three times. All three times it was on a bridge just south of the casino. The blip is moving, and the closer you get to it, there is an alarm that get louder and louder. Then the blip disappears. Idk what to make of it.

It was a Smuggler Plane. 😁

Next time, just open the big map in the pause menu and hover over the dot. A description of the event will appear on the right.

They can also pay attention to the screen because they get a notification telling them to follow the smugglers plane.

It did not. Any of the times. Just the blip, and the alarm when I got close.
Still tho, why does it disappear?

Because it went to far away. Follow it and it crashes.

that blip is located at 0,0,0, so it's most likely an event that glitched and couldn't spawn at its proper location

The fist time I was too far away. But the other two times I was immediately on the blip. Disappeared. Bbd anyway if it is a smuggler plane. Just wildly inconsistent

Because it crashes into the reservoir, close to the bunker location up there. Once it dies that there is a notification telling you to investigate the crash site. You get 25k for your efforts. 

Blue dots also appear for Smuggler Trails. Sleeping Guards. Drug cars. Skeletons. Crime Scenes.

If I'd know highlighting the marker told me what it was Id have done that! You're answer seems like a sensible answer so Ill go with that! I double checked the distance and it was just under 1KM away when it started flashing, which blue markers dont (usually!)

Not sure if this is related to any of these but I had the Smuggler Plane by the Casino act up twice. Both times were shortly after its addition, it got stuck in the River/Sewer and blew up at which point the blip disappeared.

This must be what happened. As that was the location all three times. Thanks!
