MarshDanni
Maybe a controversial take on the situation, but I would argue that out of the free games that are currently out there on the market, Fortnite is one of the lesser ones to worry. From what I've personally seen in free to play games (either mobile or PC), Fortnite hasn't really shown to be predatory compared to other titles. I would agree that of course flashy colors, characters and take an interest towards a child, but then again I do believe that parents should definitely regulate spending. It cannot be understated however that Fortnite has a huge player base, so of course many kids are exposed to it quite a bit... Jason
Fortnite doesn't have loot boxes and that's how Epic argue that they are not a predatory company. However, they prey massively on the fear of missing out with their rotational store and time limited battle passes. Those aren't as bad as gambling but they're still a form of monetisation that has rapidly gotten out of hand to the detriment of consumers. Regardless, neither of that has todo with why Epic were fined. They were fined because they knowingly had basically little to no confirmation for purchases resulting in easy or otherwise accidental purchases by customers.
