They added those thief encounters from SP with this update I think.

If you picked previously the pistol after the plaza shootout, next encounters should leave a wallet with some money.

Got the Die Hard event to spawn at the first attempt. Only in session for a few moments so not 100% sure on time requirements as I was also insta Gooched. Similar to other players, the gun wasnt available to pick up so I changed session.

 

Also for info, its still possible to spawn during any Freemode event

 

Edit - got it again but still no gun. Xbox froze this time so had to do a hard restart

There's one boat sell mission on the west coast that I was never able to make one drop on time (under the Zancudo Causeway in Lago Zancudo), but I actually managed to just barely make it because of the snow.

 

Although, if you think the Post Op mission is bad in the snow, you obviously haven't had the Seaplanes yet.

Seaplanes are fine. You just have to fly by instruments, not visual...

Invite a friend to a private lobby. You have $10000 on hand and snacks while your friend banks all his cash. The Gooch will come after you in 48 minutes.

 

I recommend waiting on the highway between Fort Zancudo and Paleto Bay as this location limits the directions in which the Gooch can run away.

I remember playing 8th gen GTA V/O for the first time and laughing out loud when I saw that the instrument panels were functional inside most aircraft. I know you can see the vital stuff on the mini map, but that little touch was so cool as someone who’s been playing GTA since III came out. It’s amazing to look at GTA’s trajectory as a franchise, it’s gotta be in the top 5, maybe even top 3 franchises of all time.

My Die Hard event was anti-climactic to say the least. Flew over to the building, vents blew up, and all I saw was a few bodies laying on the ground. Landed the helicopter and picked up the pistol. lol

That’s how it happened on my second character. Not complaining.

It was weird. The only thing I could think of is that another player was in the area and must of died on the roof before attempting to grab it and just never went back up there to collect it

The first time it spawned for me, I landed my Sparrow on the opposite side of the roof from the peds. As I came around to their side, they all got mowed down. I looked up to see where the shots came from, and there's a guy with a minigun on the higher section in the middle of the roof. I quickly fired at him and domed him with my AR. As I picked up the pistol, I realized I saw something pop up on the bottom left of the screen. I quickly checked the notifications, and I had killed another player. Yeah, minigun man was an off-radar player. Oops. I really didn't mean to steal the pistol from them like that. If I had known they were there, I would've let them have it and tried again later.

Spent 4 hours in session & no Gooch then just 20 minutes after signing in the following day I just sold a car was driving to my warehouse when I spotted a blue dot outside a bar, it was for the drunk Cayo guard & just as I was bent down taking his wallet the Gooch struck.

Wow, now that you mention it...  Sea is indeed utterly calm (and mostly foggy too)...

 

Well, the Post Op biker sell mission is a 200% certified `change sessions/log off/ goto storymode ` action for me... I did it solo once, NEVER again. I did it a few times with friends and the Insurgent turbo-boost... NEVER again... I rather hit my head against a brick wall than doing that mission EVER again... Just the mere thought of the lightning fast accelerating/moving Postal Van makes me sick to my stomach... That mission is PURE torture... 😉

 

All fun aside... I HATE that mission to a T and I always skip, lose some product, but get to keep my sanity (more or less)...

One trick for the Post Op vans is to only deliver 4 packages and then blow up the van. You'll still get full payment and save 20% of your time.

You'll also want to look at the map, and choose your own route. The auto-GPS is really really bad for this mission.

Session jumping works, be  near the base of Wessel tower (Nakatomi Plaza) with respawn at last location. As soon as it goes 8pm jump into another public session if the event isn't happening indicated by a blue event dot on the mini map at the base of the tower jump again & keep doing it until you find one (took me 6 attempts). You want to do this at 8pm as that ensures you are first to get to the event as it only seems to spawn once per session in the allotted time frame. You're going to need a copter or oppressor on standby to get up there. Even if another player has done the event before you the gun which will be on the roof near one of the dead body's is still able to be picked up by you & other players however does seem to be a time limit it will de-spawn.

Yeah I had to lobby jump for over 2 hours.  When it would spawn getting the gun was glitched.  Finally I used the Up and Atomizer to propel him off the building and get the gun .
