GTA IV on Xbox series X won’t allow me to sign in

As the title states I can install and launch the game but it will not allow me to sign it. It says the “profile can’t connect to Xbox live on this console. To fix it, download it again.”

 

have tried that and uninstalling the game/ reseting console etc. 

 

any ideas? Can’t find anything on the web other than someone who asked the same on Microsoft support but it wasn’t answered.

 

can still play it but can’t save… unfortunate

Ok so I got it to work but I’m not sure which action or if it was a combination that fixed it. I cleared the local save cache from the console and also changed my account password. I then reset the console again. 
 

Now it’s working and was able to sign in properly through the 360 emulator.
