I'm fine with getting the trailer at release, the lack of newswire is what irks me. Pretty much all the information we have officially gotten so far (other than generic remarks about "new story") is that we are getting a new business enterprise and mobile headquarters for the 6th time, and they've only shown 2 new vehicles and a modified old one.

 

I'm glad we have gotten leaked info, because the weapons are the most exciting news so far.

Unlikely, but here’s hoping the police rifle is a G3 with scope options like the Marksman rifle has. Yeah, doesn’t even remotely fit with the name of Police Rifle, but then again the Service Carbine is a 20” rifle when the name implies 16”. I’d just like to have one of my IRL guns in game, and a G3 style rifle or Glock 20 would be at the top of my list. A 10mm Glock with a proper bark SFX could be really cool, especially if it was a one hitter at intermediate range..

 

NGL, this lack of info is kinda exciting. As long as there is some cool day one stuff cars/guns wise, I’ll be a hippy camper

I am the most excited for this. However, i can't help myself from being extremely sceptical about this. What if the Riot SMG is in fact a totally useless rubber bullet sponge, and the Police Rifle is just another useless bolt action. I hope for a M4, Marksman Rifle, G3, FN FAL, Kriss Vector, P90, CZ Scorpion Evo 3 etc. The wait is killing me...

You should be skeptical.  We now have 8+ years of DLC's.  From what I can tell from comments here, they rarely meet player expectations.  The game is now in it's ninth year and appears to be winding down.  It really is about your expectations--set them realistically, probably won't be disappointed.  Expect the Sun, Moon and the Stars, and you will be.

to be fair, we are the hardcore fanbase, we aren’t the end all be all. Our opinions probably aren’t the opinions of the casual player. They have a much lower standard bar than most of us.

The Terrorbyte was dripfed despite it being in the update art at launch. And you are forgetting that the Journey is also likely a mobile drug lab as well, meaning players don't miss out on anything and what I mean is that B6x6 will be available for GTA+ members on release day with their free drug lab upgrade while the rest of us need to wait a week or more to buy the B6x6 at all.

Yeah, I’m sure it will be. If this release tomorrow is indeed the first part of a two part update I won’t be surprised if they make everything aside from a few cars/weapons available on day one. Especially if it’s say, only 10 cars in the update we receive tomorrow. There’s a chance that some of the weapons Alloc8er mentioned will come with part two..

I'll take it one step further.  These DLC's aren't even for the 'hard core player."  HCP probably has grinder/played the game to the point where there is no chance in hell they will purchase a stinky fish card, the reasons these DLC's exist and RS's target audience.

And Diamond Casino was a pretty significant update and had a trailer on release day. It really means damn nothing in regards to anything, trailer being now, yesterday or tomorrow.

That's the reason. It should take a die hard dedicated player working their ass of a couple days to max out a progression system like that. Daily players a couple weeks max and casuals at most a month or more.

 

Like, why the f*ck does the car meet have 1000 levels? With exception to one item, most things are unlocked by level 300 or so and I spent DAYS afk only to give up at 150.

 

You want an update to die a quick death? Give it an insanely pedantic progression system.

That, or remove raids altogether, I hate when I join my MC gang and get back to back raids on my businesses which is a pain and how the hell did they all happen loke that, like dayum!!

I see it all the time with another game that i play (FFXIV) there is no bottom to how low the "standard" bar is set in the mind of a casual. They will take anything and everything. They are always fine with whatever state the game can be in and will go out of their way to defend even the worst obvious decisions.

They come from a position of ignorance for the most part due to the nature of how they play, nothing too deep, nothing too hard and certainly nothing they have to commit and put efforts into. So obviously they cant know what they don't partake in.

Sorry for the rant i'll stop, i could go on all day about it
