My biggest concern for this update is them adding another grind for unlocks/trade prices ala bunker research or LSCM levels.
The worst would be if the order for unlocks is completely random just like the bunker research.

I've fast-tracked everything in the bunker, couldn't bother waiting for the crap since it's based on luck. If they do end up having research i hope they add a fast-track option at least.

Yup. As much as I love that music, save it for VI. I don't want them to use up good songs that should wait until then. They'd fit Vice City like a glove whereas none of that music really fits Los Santos at all.

Thanks to the recent event bonuses and a quintet of 77 crate warehouse sales, I'm now over the $125M mark. Surely that'll be plenty for the next few updates?

 

I'm tempted to switch things up a bit and prioritize RP over cash, as changing my playing routine from time to time helps me to avoid burning out. What are the best soloable activities to maximize RP gains?

Yet not saying that they couldn't put some random songs in 1 or 2 radio stations, but i guess that the synthwave genre will only get it's own radio in Vice City for obvious reasons. "Neon Nigths FM", i called it.

Should be enough to buy the most important stuff for the business along with a car at least. I suggest to wait untill you discover how profitable the business will be to avoid losing money. I never buy businesses on day one for this reason.

In case I missed out on some info, will old gen be getting mostly the equivalent content as current gen once this drops? obviously I know there’s gtao+ that’ll always grant you some extra stuff but. 
I’ve a PS5 but don’t play this game on it just yet for various reasons, once the string for old gen DLC support is completely cut, or we reach the point of old gen getting more and more neglected in terms of content, that’s when I’ll be making the jump. (Or today if it ain’t getting some of the Acid Lab perks or whatever)

From what has been shown nothing indicates anything massive is being held back content wise from last gen. I think it will mostly be stuff that is already exclusive to the next gen versions, i.e. HSW works cars.

I'm reckoning the only exclusive customization is that ICP-themed livery that's shown on the GTA+ post.

Updates for Gen 8 will end eventually regardless, nothing about this update is a sign towards that however, except maybe the fact that it's a two part expansion.

I would assume that given its a 2 part update, the second part will be coming to last gen as well. Would be weird otherwise. Then again, no one said they need to be released consecutively. If 'Drug Wars' is indeed a massive update, then part 2 would come out next Dec. I mean Dre's problem was revealed in the Cayo Perico heist, but not resolved until a year later. We might get something smaller in the summer and I guess in part 2 the 'Drug war' would be over and we won.

There's a few perks GTA+ members get but as far as R* have described, all platforms will get all of the update's content. Current gen players may get some HSW eligible vehicles too that last gen obviously won't get but that's about all.

Rockstar wouldn't advertise this as a two part story and release the second part next year 

 

The Dre story wasn't a second part to Cayo, it was just something R* turned into a full story since they sprinkled that Dre bit into Cayo. The way they're advertising this update is not even comparable to Cayo --> The Contract.

 

This is the first update in literal years they've announced as having two parts, the last time they did that the second part of that update came out a month after the first part. I'd say we get the second dose of this update in March at the absolute latest.

 

And yea obviously the second part is coming to last gen if the first part is.

Probably for the best with the HSW stuff staying away from old gen or you’d fear of falling through the ground all the way till you reach the beta version of the new Vice City

Why is that monkey's paw? I love the way the arena garages look. Monkey's Paw would be 5 more levels of the Arcade garage with it's terrible lighting and layout

So the DLC drops tomorrow night, and we're still yet to see a trailer? I don't doubt that it will be a big DLC, but this is really strange. Even CE which had f*ck all to show for itself had a trailer a few days in advance.

Not really.  RS has released some DLC ‘a with a trailer Salome day and others with no trailer at all.  There really is no pattern to the max scientists plottings.

Nah, completely normal. They've not posted trailers until the day of release on quite a few occasions.

True but you gotta factor in that R* may just wanna keep things under wrap until release. They've described this update as having two massive parts with significant story and gameplay updates so I'm not really doubting the scope of what we're about to get. This is a winter update after all and R* rarely disappoints with those.

 

They've saved trailers for launch for a few winter updates and even some other massive ones (Bikers, Import/Export, Diamond Casino Heist). The lack of a pre release trailer doesn't worry me much, it just means they wanna keep things more surprising than usual and if the last few GTAO updates are anything to go by, we should be just fine.

 

The way they’ve advertised this update is surprising for sure but I guess they're just doing things a bit differently this time. I mean the two part story thing is something new as well soooo that might just be why they're changing things up

Next December? Nah, lmao. Too long of a time to R*, even for R* pattern, to have the balls to say "part 2 incoming december next year". Nah. March at best, or in summer if R* wants to go the easy way and don't have so much trouble in thinking in a new theme for a small summer DLC.

Maybe cuz he saw that was a comment for "no comments". You are basically doubting about info for reputable leakers, here there's no fake leaks. What you say some youtubers doing is drinking all the info here and sometimes speculating "own their own" with ideas that some other person said it. They aren't humble to say "someone said this on GTA Forum" nah, they go "in the meantime i thought about this...and not that i read from some person from the GTA Forums". Anyway that's beside the point. Allocar is the one that drops a lot of info very few days or even more details 1 day before DLC's release and all the info is correct. Probably his uncle works at R* or he's a spy that usually infiltrate himself into R* HQ to steal that info.

Did Ill Gotten Gains part 2 came to old old gen or just part 1?

Or even 1 day after. If i'm remember it, Bikers had it's trailer one day after the release.

Both parts came to PS3/360 and then no updates for these two consoles from that point forward.
