PC monitor turns off every time GTA 3 exits

Sometimes when I exit GTA 3, my PC monitor turns off for unknown reasons.

Solutions I have tried:

1. Setting program compatibility to Windows 7, Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows XP Service Pack 3, and Windows 98 / Windows ME

2. Setting the screen resolution to 1024 x 768 x 32 and 1920 x 1080 x 16

3. Reinstalling the game

Is it possible to fix this?

What is the monitor and what are the drivers?

I can't tell you the monitor and drivers.

This problem occurs when I try to exit GTA 3. Is there a way to fix this?

We can't help unless you give us more info. Just lookup how to figure out the drivers and the monitor itself on google.

Thanks, I've figured out the drivers and the monitor and tried to exit GTA 3, but neither this worked.

Can you see anything if you press ctrl+alt+delete?

No I can't. Nothing happens when I press CTRL + ALT + DELETE.

What graphics card do you have?

I cannot tell you what graphics card I have.

A couple of questions:

  1. Does your monitor display a black screen for let's say more than ten seconds?
  2. Is the power light on your monitor still emitting after you exit GTA III?
  3. Do you play the game at your monitor's native resolution?

If it only goes on for less than ten seconds and the monitor's power light is still emitting; then it's a likely chance it's your PC just doing its thing of terminating the game and going back to the desktop.

But yeah, can't help you much there without you stating what specs of your PC is. You can easily find it by either pressing Windows Key + X, click on system where it'll tell you the basic specifications of your system or you can type & enter in the Windows search bar "dxdiag" and click on 'display' where it'll tell you what GPU you have.

1. Yes, it still displays a black screen.

2. The power light is blinking after I exit GTA 3.

3. Yes, I do.

But still no one was able to fix the problem? I would like to state that I am using same files in the game folder, like on my main PC with Windows 10 running. Therefore I guess the problem is in some missing program or Windows. On my main computer, there’s also Windows 10 64bit, where I can’t make GTA 3 turn off my computer monitor after I exited it.

Anybody have any solutions?
