Are the classic heists dead and buried?

Cayo - please, get kicked out all the time or the host is a total dimwit and quits

Casino - please, get kicked out all the time or it's full on 5 seconds and can't get in

Doomsday - please, this one is okay sometimes. But mostly get a heavy kick to the arse

 

But original heists? Hell yea. People are welcoming and the heisting is pleasant. Sure there's sometimes dimwits and cheaters, but by and far it's the heist with most successes.

 

Problem with OG heists are randoms usually lost lives in the finales. I tried Pac Standard finale today with some russians and after 5 attempts I gave up and left.

Maybe i'll give it a try again and see if I can get any bites but I'd say it's probably not worth it with cayo which I still haven't played either.

Pac standard finale is by far IMO the hardest in that way. Often someone dying all the time especially with the bikes. And especially if the fellows don't understand or don't listen communication as there's of course other ways to do it than bikes. Fortunately I've had pretty good luck with that also lately.

One annoying thing is when someone gets on a bike with you. Slows you down and makes you have to deal with more cops (you only have 2 stars when following the route when alone but if someone gets on with you or you deviate from the route, you get 5 stars. It shows 5 but is actually 2 since no helis, they don't drive by you and no roadblock most of the time so you can usually get by without getting shot much.

Was trying to do pac standard preps on someone else’s heists but he got frustrated and left after the others kept dying on the convoy prep…. I don’t blame him though. I’m a very good driver so I was getting in the truck and the host was in a toreador… should’ve been easy…I wasn’t the one dying lol I pack snacks. I need to get a mic I guess so I can state my intentions and maybe they’ll invite me back on others

Convoy tends to be one of the harder ones with randoms. Last time I did it, I used the Barrage since I don't use it enough and it worked quite well. With two people on the guns, the enemies stood no chance.

I started in 2019 and now I have 4200 hours in GTA  - I never did Humane Lab, Series A or Pacific Standard... did Prison Break finale once and one or two preps for it (basically with randoms)... but I just cant play this 'complex' stuff like that, I'm in GTA also for story/lore and to explore missions to 'get good'. And I just hate all that mission waiting, quitting, restarting, people running around shooting at everything and dying like headless Dodo. It is not good when players are new and/or dumb, but also it is not really good if they are 'veterans', so I'm not even trying to find & join. I guess for me classic heists are "dead and buried" 

When I had someone to play, I only ever had one other person to play with and that was great - but to have '4 friends', fuggedaboutit!

Bro, you are in a vicious circle. You don't go to any heists because you don't have friends. But the easiest way to find friends - in heists. 

You see with your own eyes how a person plays, how he behaves, how he communicates. And if you like this style of play - just send him a friend request. I don't know any other options. But it is necessary to pass all the heists!

Was the most fun I ever had gaming when these heists first dropped, also felt like literally everyone was playing gta at that time.

I started again from zero with a new avatar. You have to do the mandatory Lamar missions. That was pure torture.

 

Most randummies are aspirant Darwin award winners. I was thinking, we are not going to make it, humanity I mean.

When it first came out, it was worth doing since it was THE way to make money. In today's online world, it's not worth doing those heists because you can make the same amount of money in a shorter amount of time. In my opinion, based on the money aspect, it's dead and buried. 

However, in reality, random players still request help with their run through on the OG heists. Based on that, it's still relevant and active, though I wouldn't spend any time on it since it's a lot of work for little money.

I have a new character at level 50 now and the OG heists still aren't in the quick join options yet. Do I have to buy an apartment?

I don't remember how it works but I'm guessing you have to buy an apartment so that you unlock Lester. There's a Heist room in every apartment, so that should be the key.

In the high end apartments. The cheaper ones don't allow you to host heists unfortunately. The high end ones I believe appear green on the map vs the regular white apartment icons.
