What is you favorite city in the GTA series?

My favorite city in the series is Liberty City (HD universe) because of how detailed, full of life and visually interesting it is. I also like the atmosphere of Liberty City and how it can feel like this cold urban sprawl when it's cloudy, foggy or raining and more inviting during clear, sunny weather.

My second favorite city is Vice City (3D universe) because it feels very charming and I enjoy driving around looking admiring the beautiful landscape. I can't wait to visit the HD rendition of Vice City in GTAVI and I hope that it will be able to top HD Liberty City and 3D Vice City as my favorite city in the series.

cant remember

I'm voting for Liberty city HD.

My favorites are the GTA4 and GTA5 cities for their size and detail, and GTA3's LC for the nostalgia. (I never really liked the 2D games for the maps themselves)

If I can add my worst city from the list it would be San Fierro, I don't feel anything for that city.

Los Santos both 3D and HD versions

I love the sunny, open vibe the city has. The city looks grand and colourful with interesting neighborhoods from the gritty ghettos to the downtown areas near Vinewood to the docks to the beaches and the hilly areas.

Los Santos felt most like home to me, I imagine how most people feel about Liberty City I feel about LS.

I really liked Vice City but coming to Los Santos in GTA San Andreas it felt so much more like a city you could get lost in. I like the look of HD LS too even just looking at gameplay videos of GTA V, has a very home-like feel.

It's a tough choice between HD Liberty City and HD Los Santos. Back in the day it would be 3D Los Santos but it really does just look like a "map" now rather than a city and no amount of nostalgia or rose tinted glasses will change it. Between 4's LC and 5's LS, I went with LS because it feels just a bit laid back. Not every single ped has to be somewhere, they like to chill out around the city and in their gardens. You see a lot more peds rushing through LC than LS

Of course GTA 3 for the same reasons:

I just can't understand who wouldn't want to live in GTA 3's LC. It a big city, but doesn't feel that way. You have all the conveniences and services available to you, and yet it's full of close knit small communities. But if you want, you can just be on your own, and people are not going to get in your way if you do.

The sounds of LC - approaching train, waves on the prom, distant cars and people sounds - it's simply beautiful.

GTA Plus Enjoyer

HD Liberty City is just amazing to me, with all the buildings, alleyways, subways, the atmosphere, etc. It just feels like the most "authentic" city to me personally. 3D Los Santos would be second place because it'll always hold a special place in my heart, especially after spending so much time in it. I know it better than I know my home town lol

HD era Liberty City.

Even though I’ve explored every nook and cranny countless times it’s still amazing to me after all these years. Love the architecture, atmosphere, lore etc.

Honourable mentions go to 3D era Liberty City and 3D era Vice City.

Liberty City from the HD era.

All has been said about why this is - to this day - my favorite city across any video game!

The atmosphere is unbeaten, it is full of life, love the city sounds from its architecture, people, cars, water, ... and it is incredibly dense and full of details everywhere.

It may sound weird to some of you but LC from GTA IV is the way better rendition of real life NYC than NYC from Insomniac's Spider-Man games. They (Rockstar) more than anyone else simply know to capture the feel and look of a real life city and make a 'fictional' version of it.

I hope that one day they will revisit Liberty City again, either in GTA or a new Noire game set there.

2D Era: Vice City, the street layout isn't as chaotic as LC and you don't have as many spots to accidentally suicide yourself like in SA, plus the humid yellowy vibes remind me a ton of my hometown. Loved playing GTA1's radios in my car in the late summer evenings while driving around lol.

GTA2: Industrial District wins me over which is pretty unpopular, but it just reminds me a ton of Carcer City/Alderney and feels so gloomy.

3D era: Liberty City I guess

HD era: Liberty City by a large margin

3D era's Vice City will always be my favorite deep down there because of its unique and dreamy 80s atmosphere.

Having just completed GTA IV and its DLCs, HD Liberty City is a close one, it just felt so alive and interesting, it had nothing to do with its 3D version, which, ironically, is my least favorite city.

Los Santos in V and San Fierro from the 3d era. I'm definitely biased though as I've visited LA twice now, San Francisco just recently for the first time and am just in love with both cities.

That said, 3D Liberty City is probably the one I've spent most time in as I'm just a sucker for that rendition of Liberty with a huuge diversity of different gangs (most of whom mark you for death), the simple but awesome and easy to remember layout for its time and the dark, gritty tone all games in this city have (and I'm counting fan made games like Sindacco Chronicles).

Chose the wrong option but I’d have to go with Vice City (3D) due to its vibrancy (especially at night). It’s an almost unmatched vibe of cruising through the city listening to some of the greatest music of any in-game soundtrack.

Vice City for sure because it's Miami. Miami is my favorite American city been millions of times there. I love the Architecture, culture, food, and Latin American feel. It looks like a Latin American city giving it a different look and feel from other American cities. I love the beautiful colorful neon lights city feel 😍

I lived in NYC in bayridge Brooklyn in my early years.
