On one hand, seeing as how gta parodies everything it could be ripe for parody itself but, on the other hand, there’s already a lot of media that acts like there was no pandemic and gta might go down that route so idk 

I hope they at least poke fun at the panic buying of toilet paper

for real here, what would a third character even do? The protagonist who is in South America for example? do we need one more protagonist? Also that was most likely a gang member animation test not a protagonist we might play. If it was the third one we would see him more.

 

though he did have some incredible special ability twisting his bones like that

What if there's two stories and after jason and lucia's chapters we play as a single protagonist for a chapter or two kinda like in rdr2

or we start off as a different character for a prologue? I don't think so but who knows. I'd prefer if we only have Jason and Lucia.

(not that I believe the leaks caused rockstar to push announcement to 2023) but if it did, then from Fall 2022, it will be Spring 2023. If not anything like that happened and schedule remains the same, then Fall 2023.

Yes, I also believe a third character will just shorten the story  and not  enough time to flesh out all 3 characters stories. Just Jason and Lucia with 110 missions. a huge story just for them. And character development more than gta v's.

The 4 characters that are mentioned in the files are Jason, Lucia, billy and Kai. I’m under the impression that after the main story with Jason and Lucia there will be a EFLC type expansion with those two characters and their own story.

What happened to the single protag with a good plot from start to finish (IV). Duo protags are only good for missions when switching instantly to a different vehicle or part of the map so they other doesn't need to drive there for 5 minutes for the next objective. Let only 3 protags.

might return for gta 7 

I like that V had 3 and VI has 2 protagonists but it's only them, I am sure in the next one it will be back to one protagonist.

My problem with V is that the story is shorter and feels rushed at times.

The 4 protagonists thing lines up with the Axios report, which stated that initially R* planned for 3 cities and 4 protagonists.

Billy is seen as being part of a mission, I think it's just the character listing order that's throwing people off. Kai and Billy are probably story main characters, which could very well come after the protagonists in a list like that. Don't think they'll be protagonists or anything, we'll only get Jason and Lucia.

Nah as I said, you get a text from Billy IIRC in one of the clips. So I think they're just other main story characters.
