True but if GTA VI does get announced anytime this fall , there’s gonna some people who will associate the reveal with V’s anniversary, some people were already convinced about that theory last year

Or a damage control newswire with a small blurb at the end of the article about  how they are still working on the next entry, and that's it.

I didn't even know there was a Pikmin 3 LOL!

Only played the first one.

 

At this point I can wait for GTA6 anyway. Zelda is out soon. Metroid Prime remaster just came out. Starfield is out there hiding somewhere (which I'm waiting for to build my next PC). I still haven't played Resident Evil 2 or 3 remakes, or RE8, and 4 remake is out soon. There's also the Dead Space remake. Then Jedi Survivor. Then I have like 20 other games I bought in the last few years I haven't played! I barely have time as it is.......

More interestingly I didn't had the same feeling in IV, and this game really only had shooting and driving when you think about it.

Yes but due to more advanced physics outcome was always unique so both aspects of ganeplay for that reason were more interesting.

Yeah, for the next few months I'm shifting focus to Pikmin and Zelda. I think GTA kinda missed its perfect moment, which is fine if it wasn't ready, but it'll be swimming with a few other fishes once it finally gets announced. It'll obviously be the biggest announcement of the year, but Nintendo kinda took their chance to open 2023 swinging. Not like that's a bad thing, just a timing thing. I'll still be excited for whenever it gets announced, but at least I have something to chew on while I wait.

It's kind of good GTA6 isn't out now, because it's all I would be playing. The same case is going to go for Zelda and Starfield, so it's now a race against the clock to clear out as much of my backlog as possible.

 

Once GTAO 2.0 is released on PC, there goes my life.... again.....

I think Rockstar's name and general standing with the gaming community has taken a pretty big hit as a result of the incessant V and GTAO milking (not to mention the recent remakes debacle), i know that doesn't matter to the shareholders, but i think it's naive to suggest that they have the same reputation that they had prior to V.  They could use a good PR win to wash away that bad blood, and a juicy trailer will probably do the trick, for the most part at least

There hasn't really been a big damaging moment for Rockstar this year. A lot of small things, yes, but nothing crazy bad yet, like we had last year with RDO getting killed, the GTA VI megaleak, Trilogy bugs, etc. So far we've had another botched launch of the Trilogy and dripfeed content. Still terrible, but there seems to be a bar that Rockstar is just sliding under of "PR ruining"

The 10 year anniversary is going to be a damaging moment when the most recent GTA is turning 10 years old and they still haven't put anything out about VI. Twitter is going to eat them alive.

What big hit? You have to be extremely naive to think they don't have their reputation intact. Forums and social media don't necessarily reflect the bigger picture, and in this case, they certainly don't. It's a very myopic way of viewing things. Their fanbase is a lot larger than 2013, and social media is too, so of course the noise will be louder. If they really cared about those opinions, they wouldn't have released Trilogy DE on Steam without even a single new patch.

 

The trailer will come when they see fit (probably later this year the way things are going), and no amount of outside noise will make them change their stance. If there was ever a chance of it coming earlier, that ended with that leak. They'll make sure everything works flawlessly in that reveal trailer to nip those unfinished comments in the bud.

Does Rockstar have an amazing reputation?  Absolutely... but you can't deny that it has a bit of tarnish on it, GTAV being re-released has pretty much hit meme status like Skyrim lol

The thing is, the re-release issue isn't actually an issue for them. In fact, it's a good issue for them to have. Todd Howard basically said it out loud: "If you want us to stop releasing it, stop buying it."  What they're seeing is GTAV selling 5m units per quarter a decade after its release. That sends a very clear message to them, unlike thousands of social media posts. You're seeing it from a myopic point of view again. Nothing has been tarnished by any means.
