Oh, I know. I was even going to write about the satirical nature of Ammu-Nation and America and their weapons. But I just want some level of fun and creativity in a game. Much like the GTA IV system of the weapons cars, or GTA Online's Gun Van.

Rockstar's depiction of America is not realistic by any means. It's intentionally hyperreal, satirically distorted, and sometimes grotesque potryal of America. And a game set in GTA's version of Florida will play into South's gun culture, just like how Ammu-Nation stores disappeared in IV's Liberty City at all as an exaggeration to New York's already strict gun laws.

They certainly could, but the absence of Ammu-Nation in IV's Liberty City, which was replaced with underground gun shops and gun cars, was explicitly an exaggeration of New York's stricter gun laws compared to the rest of the USA. GTAO's gun vans are more of a throwaway feature, tbh, especially at this point of it's lifecycle.

 

I guess it's hard to say what they're gonna end up doing in VI, but I doubt they'll leave the opportunity to twist South's gun culture in VI.
