btw what evidence do we have that we might get something tomorrow (Today in the UK as it is 12 am) - Is it just pure speculation or is there like decent evidence backing this claim?

I'm curious.

I'm curious.

It's speculation, but it's based on the last 3 years of them having a newswire "community update" the Friday before Monday's investors call.

Last year's acknowledged that the next GTA is being worked on and we will "hear more soon."

It's been a year, and they haven't said anything else, hence the speculation.

Speculation fueled by hopium, far as I can tell.

There's no evidence. People just speculate due to the take-two call next week and that it has been 1 year since the first mention of the game being worked on and that potential community update. It's speculation & discussion after all.

I also think nothing will happen like I told you before, but it's not out of the possibility, it could be any day this year, like if you want fact the RDR2 teaser as some said. I don't see an announcement going for 2024.

Also here at least most usually throw memes about not getting anything they're not being serious as far as I can tell, some might be (they get pretty angry and start attacking everyone in the end) but they aren't many, I haven't noticed anyone being really serious here except a few occassions, now about twitter (it's worse there).

I think rockstar is going to do something smaller post gta 6 I don’t expect red dead 3

Absolutely zero chance of that happening, mate. Market doesn't want smaller titles from R*, and any potential map expansion for VI (even one) practically erases the possibility of any side project after that game comes out. At best, you'd get a few more remasters, in my opinion.

That GTA IV remaster that was rumored would be nice

Well I think that depends, the last 2 Rockstar entries (also adding VI) are so massive it has required all of Rockstar's development studios to work on that 1 project.

All of Rockstar development studios have a significant number of employees so there is a high possibility that we could see a smaller game whether it's a sequel, completely new title, or a remake/remaster. I'm confident something else has been in the works at one of the other studios in the background but it isn't at the stage yet that requires complete attention I.e. early stages of development.

You keep saying the GTA V info drought was like the worst thing ever, yet there was 5 years between the actual release of GTAIV and GTAV, whereas, we are now into year 10 between V and VI, and are probably at least 18 months away from release.

I'd say that drought is probably longer no?

Yeah and we are 5 years between RDR2 and VI.

Why everybody forgets about RDR2?

RDR3 is 100% in development, there is no doubt about that - they start working on the next game after they release it. But this game is definitely in really early, early stages. Most likely concept/script writing stages. We won't hear anything about this game for the next 5 years lol. Lets bring it back to GTA 6 because that is what rockstar is currently focused on.

Red Dead was always Sam's thing. Read this article.

Quote

Even before Rockstar purchased the company, the team would visit Angel Studios several times a year to see the tech the team was working on. Knowing that the team was working on a Western somewhere in the studio, Bader recalls, piqued the Housers’ interest, Sam especially.

...

Rockstar San Diego went on to develop a sequel to Revolver: Red Dead Redemption. Redemption ended up being the open-world Western game that, developers say, Sam Houser wanted to make — part of the reason Rockstar bought the rights to Revolver in the first place.

Pretty much everything in Rockstar's studio history is related to Sam, one way or another. From obsession with Miami Vice to dance music. Dan even said that Sam's favourite director was Sam Peckinpah.

Quote

DH: So if the question is simply who do we think makes great films or has made great films and would be one that we would be most influenced by? Then, I would probably say--without putting words in other people's mouths--for me it would be Hitchcock, for Sam it would be Sam Peckinpah, and I guess a lot of people at Rockstar would go those two or Scorsese. Those are sort of all our favorite directors.

Even without all that, Red Dead is still Rockstar's 2nd best-selling franchise, where the last 2 games combined have sold over 70m units total thus far. Redemption 2 outsold every single Rockstar game except V. There's just no f*cking way they won't make another one.

I agree, considering GTA6 has been in development since 2014, I think we can say pre-production of RDR3 has started

You know, plot ideas, concepts, etc

Keep in mind that from what we've heard so far, VI is potentially getting proper map expansions post-launch, which is unlike anything R* has done before. It'll require significantly more effort than any story or GTAO DLC we've seen so far.

I'd say after VI comes out, they'll work on its post-launch contents, remaster a couple of games, and move on to future projects. There's just no way they can do anything else unless they consciously form a 400-500 person team for side projects, which is very unlikely. Games require significantly more time and resources compared to what they needed 10 years ago.

So is there any legit truth based on what Tez posted that the game is pretty much finished and in the big testing phase (I’m probably not wording this well).

something about each numbered build has multiple sub builds and the game has been in full development since 2018.

I mean the hype will come back once they decide to talk about it but yeah, this silence has been exhausting and annoying as f*ck for us

This. It's one thing having to wait, but I rather wait without any official word on the game than having to wait after Rockstar mentioned the game and said to share more as soon as it's ready.

If it's not ready, then just shut up about it, Rockstar...

you know, at first i thought you were wrong, because of 2023 just having started and whatnot, but of course October is the 10th month, and we already passed 3 months since last Oct.

Seeing that Oct is just 8 months away already is weird as hell... sh*t goes so f*cking fast, i swear...
