Unpopular opinion, but I agree. GTA IV was built on top of a completely new engine and that game came out very quick. Sure technology advances as time goes on but developers adapt just as quickly. Studios taking as long as they are to put out new games is just them wanting to get every little drop out of their predecessor. GTA V/Online is a perfect example. If GTA Online wasn't as big as it was, we would've have GTA VI 2-3 years ago 100%. It never took this long to make a GTA game until there was something to milk lol

If Rockstar is using the extra time afforded them through GTAO to keep Strauss of their back and make VI awesome, then they can milk it as long as they want for all I care.

No doubt, that they do but It's been almost 10 years since GTA V was released, at some point you just have to say "enough".

I mean, of the GTA V trio, they've all loved working with R* and still go to cons and stuff except for Steven Ogg, but he's a special case at this point  Roger Clark and the RDR2 crew also still do the same so I'd expect that for Jason and Lucia's actors too!

I disagree, RDR2 came out 4 years ago, and you say GTA6 would have been made 3 years ago if not for Online, RDR2 was R*'s main focus from 2013 to 2018

But maybe if it wasn't for COVID, most likely in 2022 there would be an announcement of VI

But IV was criticised at launch by a lot of people for not having the environmental variety, amount of content, and features of SA, which was not exactly an invalid complaint. So, even in 2008, people had an obsession with more with every subsequent R* game.

 

And just because something like IV took 3.5 years back then doesn't mean it'll be the same today. R* very likely would've taken more time nowadays because it wouldn't have been the same game. If R* tried to fast-forward RDR2 for release in 2016 to gear up for VI 2019-'20 then RDR2 wouldn't have become the game as we all know it today.

The industry has changed a lot in the last 15 years. Many people expect larger, more visually and technically complex games, but at a faster rate. Those two things fundamentally contradict each other.

 

You'll simply have to be satisfied with less content at launch if you want faster releases. That's the compromise you will have to make. There're no two ways about it now unless something changes overnight.

i think steven is just mad because the only thing people associate with him is Trevor, a "cartoon character". I understand how he could be frustrated. He probably is more proud of other roles he had but feels sad that the biggest gig of his life was a videogame character. Even though the videogame his character is in is the biggest of all time

i can agree w you there but we also share an outside perspective. We dont know what happens behind the scenes between the studios and the actors. Niko and CJs actor felt they were underpaid for their work and Ogg might feel the same way especially since they continued to use trevor in cutscenes for the online updates without his knowledge (somehow)

I think the last time we really say trevor in cutscenes was in the serie a heist after that saw we trevor only on a foto after playing cayo perico heist first time and other characters mentioned trevor like Ron in smugglers run and LS drug wars and our Employer in the agency

You know what? I love to see Las Venturas and San Fiero back at some point, maybe a new location like Chicago, San Diego, Menphis, Seattle, Dallas, Detroit, Boston and so on tbh, so many possibilities tbh

You know what? Rockstar should make their own MMO, like a GTA version of the Crew games but instead of actual cities, will have loads of fictional version of them as a parody as such, would be cool tbh, and would be it's own universe tbh, like an MMO verse or something

he’s one of the 3 biggest faces on one of the number 1 best selling anything ever, and he hates it. Blows my mind honestly. People would’ve given up everything to have his role. I can’t help but feel like he’s pretty ungrateful for the opportunity. but I’m not an entertainer so I don’t know how that is, but spitting in the face of the people who put food on your table is pretty low.

Biased as someone who lives near Atlanta and is in GA, Atlanta/Georgia would be hilarious in GTA and hartsfield + Lockheed Martin are some things I’d like to see(the UFO content w LM would be enough, like a remake of the GTASA Area 69 side mission but stealing an airplane) add Savannah and the little islands(and lost nuke) off the coast and Stone Mountain(would love to see who R* would put there), also I’d like to see their take on Appalachans/Mountain ppl. Some other things  like world of Coca-Cola , the GA Aquarium, Centennial Park, Gone with the Wind stuff, weird old Confederates, TWD and Lake Lanier could get parodied/recreated in game

 

Georgia has also become more popular to film in since they’ve made it cheaper so probably not a lot of movies based on it(besides historical things like about Jimmy Carter, MLK and the Civil Rights or inversely GwtW/the Civil War, not trying to get political it’s just like the stuff we’re known for) but a bunch of shows/movies have had filming done here(The Walking Dead being the main one, I remember my friends wishing to sneak in set or be a part of that which is funny looking back)

they could also make lots of nuts and peaches jokes

 

I understand we probably aren’t as interesting as our neighbors Alabama and Florida but tbf how do you compete with Florida Man??

 

edit: I don’t even want like some super expansive thing, a small addition to the north of the VI map would be enough for me, just gotta make sure there’s a Waffle House on every corner

GTA 7 locations =  parts of Mexico, states of Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas (obviously sort of mixed together to get best locations out of them), game will be about the Drug Cartels. Continuing the GTA Americas concept that GTA 6 started?

judging from the leaks,i think it looked pretty far along around late 2020 . My uneducated guess would be around 3-4 years of production from that point. 

 

That gives me more confidence that rstar will b able to get this out by 2024. Im praying 4 sping

I've seen a video online of that software that makes games, you click and it starts doing things, I don't know why devs don't use it.

 

It was insane, the person who was using it literally pressed "add multiplayer" and the game instantly had multiplayer, then there was a button to fix bugs and all bugs disappeared.
