it also seems that the nights will actually be dark (from leaked clip) so will be even better  

also thick foggy weather around the countryside area, and your lights helping out, or those countryside roads at night that have no cars

I am still under the impression that the "Mambas '24" we reffering to a release date (perhaps an announcement date).

Just watched a few videos that leaked back in September and I'm curious...  The latest footage (Americas_1 2022-09-13) made me realize that all this looks very early to me, I wouldn't be surprised if VI releases in fall 2025 considering the progress is very slow and all this console chip shortage.

There's a multitude of different builds from different departments working on different things in game studios of this size, we only saw a tiny fraction of that. There are most likely builds that are much more polished graphically, or have more of the map and peds, etc. alongside those we saw in the leaks that didn't have everything yet - which seemed to be mostly for testing locomotion and similar. Notice how there are clips that look vastly more polished than others. Artists don't need the latest animation and mission changes, mission designers don't need the latest graphics code, and so on (this depends, but to simplify it...)

 

Every so often the whole package is put together as a goal/milestone is reached, tested etc etc etc, rinse repeat. It's all very iterative. And honestly, even the 2021 clips seemed to look a lot better than GTA V did when it was revealed in 2011 lol. If we were to use the same time frames (just hypothetically), the game may well be ready by autumn 2024 just fine. A lot happens in the last few *MONTHS* of a game's development as well.

Yep, just watched footage from early 2021 to fall 2022 and realized they all look kinda different in some way. But then again who am I to judge the game's progress if I'm not Sam Houser lol.

Yeah, that’s why I think this time rockstar learned their mistake, to not announce a release date if you are not 100% sure about it.

Also they know that they can't make mistakes with this game. Despite R* being one of the best devs, people find any reason to hate everything, so I guess R* want to be 100% sure about the announcement.
