Can you imagine though? Imagine if it was indeed from VI, this whole time we have had the biggest teaser, an island from the next game, right in front of our eyes and we didn't know.

I can imagine that happening with quite a few smaller things scattered around GTA Online too tbh :prismkek:

There was a 3D shooter planned for one of those arcades that was unfortunately cut. Imagine GTA VI actually giving you access to the legit versions of GTA 1 and 2 via an arcade, but maybe renamed to Race & Chase (I know we have the Race & Chase games in GTAO but let's just say these are spinoffs) :sadkek:

I hadn't played GTAO for quite a while and when I went in and saw they had the arcade games I had to try it out, and damn they are fun!

It would be a missed opportunity to not have them back for VI I reckon!

Trust me dude, if it was twice that length to go from Vice City to Port Gellhorn, it would quickly feel like a chore and you would probably not bother leaving either one of the cities for a while.

It is the same in RDR 2 and I personally think that this is the way, once you reach the city you stay there. 5 was boring because of being made for impatient ADHD people, it is even visible in how the story is made. In San Andreas (which had smaller map than GTA V but the cars were slower so it still took mire time to get anywhere) and RDR 2 map crossing felt always like Great tour, and even 1000 hours didn’t change that.
Also Vs approach renders any flying vehicles useless and I think San Andreas should be what they use to balance things

Also you guys are missing one thing - length of Vice City - Port Gellhorn route can’t be realistically speculated as we don’t have road network. So still it will most likely take a lot longer to get there. Besides that ignoring what I said above, If the distance by the road is the same as in Santos - Paleto, the trip is going to be even shorter because there’s no way VI cars are slower than V.

Having missions in GTAO2 where they focus on only one town at a time would allow them to make a huge map without compromise.

In the current online missions in general might start in the city and take you to north of the map or vice versa. In in GTAO2 if they make it so one update focuses only on one town, then the next update focuses on a smaller town on the other side of the map then keep cycling through cities/towns it would keep the game healthy without having to compromise the size of the map.

So we bring him back from the dead? :prismkek:

For those worried about map size, I'm sure it's going to be a little bit bigger than V's map. Maybe not 2x or 3x as big as some people have speculated but it'll definitely be a bit bigger for sure. I think R* might be going back the IV approach, as some have suggested, to make the game world feel immensely detailed and alive, so to speak. In short, I'm not too worried about it as I got faith that R* will blow us away with this new map. And if ya'll are still not convinced, check out the clip titled Americas 2022-09-07 13-04-13. Look to the left of the screen and look at all flat landmass out there! I know it's not super hi-res and detailed, but the map looks pretty f*cking big to me right there, and I don't even know what direction the camera is facing, whether it's North, South, East, or whatever. Also if you look between the two big buildings to the right of the menu, you can see some more landmass off into the distance.

Everything was made for people with short attention span who can’t slow down for a second. Map was made in a way that doing circle around it takes 12 minutes, 6 minutes to get to farthest to the North point. Story tried to be funny at every step to this level that when you look at RDR 2 and GTA IV not only world of GTA V starts looking like a parody but also story becomes parody because you can’t take it seriously. (World is supossed to be a parody but not the story)

tbh. Most of the stuff I listed above is just direct answer to GTA IV main complains, but instead of going somewhere in the middle they went to the current state of V

What a disappointment. That’s means the map isn’t big like people speculate. I was hoping  for it to be two times bigger than V Map, since the game been in development back 2014.

All thought having a big map is a cool idea, I don't think people would want to travel across the map for a mission that takes 30 minutes to get there

Liberty City again? I've expect either San Fiero, Los Venturas or another city that we haven't been to like Detroit, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, San Diego and so on, lol

Mhmm, agreed and seems like they are doing that because Avon Herts is a evil characterization of Elon Musk, maybe

In RDR 2 missions were just gathered around one area, big traveling was only hapenning at the beginning of each chapter and it was only one time deal. So If the traveling for a mission for so long happened then all other missions after that mission would take place in the same płace.

Map can be small If main road network going through all major locations doesn’t look like Nascar track. Physically smaller doesn’t mean practically smaller If the roads are made in a way that it seems big.

Hence the massive amounts of RDR2 vegetation (parts of which will certainly be used in VI too) in that island which look nothing like the rest of GTA V's. :yee: ...and that bring this older version of RAGE down to its knees lmao.

Someone even found a texture type in a Cayo crane that's not used in this version of GTA V's RAGE but only started being used in RDR2 (and presumably VI), I don't remember exactly which. It was a texture mostly used in PBR pipelined games (again like RDR2), which GTA V isn't.

No wonder why it's so laggy

Yeah the coordinates suggest that the map is much bigger than V's so I don't know why everybody is anxious about it

I don't get the issue about map size. R* was never the developer to make absolutely gigantic maps, at least not in the last 15 years. Just take a look at RDR1 and 2. RDR2, when you take the new locations into mind, is roughly about 1.4-1.5 times larger than 1's map, which looks to be similar to how VI's map is going to compare to V's, as far as we can tell. Also, very credible rumours suggest that there'll be way more interiors than ever before.

Also, there's a very real possibility of actual map expansions this time around.

But still, I think a lot of people might be disappointed, by plain numbers RDR 2s map is more than two times bigger than RDR 1s map. (33 sq km vs 75 sq km). Also GTA VI map already looks like it's around 1.5 times bigger and we only saw parts of Vice City and part of Port Gellhorn and Keys. I am pretty much sure there is even more stuff and the map is way wider than we already know, especially that it would be logical after so big hardware jump since Xbox 360 times and the wait itself, and that's even including way more interiors. Rockstar is a studio that will surely try to squeeze everything from current gen hardware by making ton of interiors on every corner or making big and detailed world on the outside. Both endings are good to be honest. But best would be something inbetween.

Plus with the internal changes and heavy focus on minimizing crunch, the idea of Cayo Perico being featured isn't out of the realm of possibility. That could be RDR2's Guarma equivalent in this game.

It isn't unlikely but to me Cayo Perico seems to have been designed as part of the mission, it's not worthy of freeroam I don't see how it can be featured as a map unless the entire heist is also part of gta vi again but different, it looks to me that it was designed just for that mission, it's too small of an island. I did the oppressor mk2 glitch at times and there's just nothing to see. Will there be something like Guarma? I think so. There will be smaller other locations.

Was it backported in some way ? Yeah perhaps,  they were gonna have it in gta vi but removed it and made for gta online.

Too many interiors do people mean? Or something like GTA IV? In my opinion GTA V's interiors were fine, a few important locations / safehouses / or for some missions are fine but more than that no, maybe some random house interiors for burglary missions too but that's about it.

They don't really offer anything.
