well not all of them are developers, some are for other stuff like support and marketing, linkedin lists 5,000+ employees currently

not that much difference, just 1 year difference maybe?  but still I am not sure as that's not something easy to say, we can only guess, we are not "experts" on these , it is a bit more complicated.

perhaps 2,000 or 3,000 more developers... maybe it can be far sooner like they did in the past, I still believe we might get a new gta every 5-6 years again.

No, the same 5 years, not every employee is a developer and not every developer was working on RDR2, soon you people will say that RDR2 was made in 1 year with 6 months of pre-production...

A part of me feels GTA 6 could be the last GTA for an extremely long time, I could imagine Rockstar using it as a solid base to add on new stories and locations like the initial "Americas" leaks seemed to be pointing towards while also updating it graphically as technology improves, almost like they're testing now with the raytraced reflections on the new consoles.

well the online character is far stronger for some reason than any other npc, my theory is that they might be aliens but anyways

might be for the "fun" aspect

if it's not us, or a character we created and it's rockstar's character and does not speak, then most likely they are an alien. That's my conclusion. No Claude isn't an alien, he's really just mute and badass.

I think it's just because online couldn't handle some features. Like how in the past when the character used the phone you could see it but you can't anymore. Or how the mechanic used to bring the car to you manually.

if that's the case and too many details then snow might not be a thing either, I don't care if details like the mechanic bring your car and such aren't in the online mode. I prefer the online mode being a bit unrealistic *not THAT far Rockstar...*, you get what I mean. I want snow, I want fast car delivery etc.

For story mode yes absolutely, realism/details  should be a thing I think. But online mode there's this fun aspect and creation of weird races and other maps for example if you know.

I think the PS5/XBSXS can handle it. Besides they will make GTAO2 with future updates in mind so it will probably be optimized way better.

 

Can you imagine seasons though? Like trees going yellow in Autumn, no leaves on trees during Winter, NPC's dressing differently depending on how hot or cold it is etc.

Yeah I mentioned it in a comment far back even Miami has cold weather even by a bit.

@XilurmOr the game is set in Summer like how GTA V was set I think? And GTA IV was set in Autumn.

   I hope it has seasons..

like how they see what people say for gta online and they put them in updates, like recently with what is coming with the next gta drug wars missions.

Rockstar has my blessing to retire the Red Dead Franchise after they finish the van der Linde Gang Trilogy. Should be great when it releases in 2045!

Unpopular opinion but if it's gonna take 10+ years for new RDR games then I'm all for ending the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

 

That way maybe we can get a RDR game every 6-7 years.

Gta is the only game which made the team Rockstar emerge. Even if they starting making new ones, many will expect only the three magic letters G T A .  If GTA ends= Rockstar Ends

One more info in my Country there are team of developers trying to make a game which may emerge as a competitor to GTA called “ Mumbai Gullies”. The game is still in alpha so may take some years to come . The alpha gameplay is already on YouTube
