I have 165 Hz Freesync monitor, but I switched to 120 Hz option in GTA V and locked FPS to 40 in RivaTuner and damn 40 fps is so much more smooth than 30 fps... you don't even need motion blur at all.

Imagine if more TV's had 120 Hz screens so Rockstar would be willing to make 40 fps mode for consoles in GTA VI.

It's because, despite being just 10 frames per second more than 30fps, the frame time of 40fps (25ms) is exactly in the middle of the frame times of 30fps (33.3ms) and 60fps (16.6ms). That's why 40fps is closer to 60fps than 30fps, not just a mere 33% improvement as 30->40 implies.

And yes, I don't think R* will care for a 40fps mode precisely because of that reason. PS5 doesn't even support GSync/Freesync so you're sh*t out of luck without HDMI 2.1 adaptive sync. It's just lame. Xbox supports it just fine. Sony probably wants to sell more of their TVs :prismkek:

That's really waste of time, most people don't even have VRR capable TVs. Just for example, I bought my TV (OLED) back in 2018, way before HDMI 2.1 was a thing in TVs.

You don't need VRR to have 40 fps mode. You only need 120 Hz TV.

You don't need need VRR or Freesync for 40 Hz mode. You only need that for unlocked modes that go beyond 60 fps.

VRR only let's you smooth out fps in 48-120 fps range on PS5, but 40 Hz is just a straight lock that only requires 120 Hz display so it can be divided by 3 to 40.

I bought my 4K 55" TV for 500€ it has Freesync and VRR HDMI that works in 48-120 fps range, but I mainly bought it because it supports 120 Hz in 1440p mode, in 4K it only does 60 Hz (HDMI 2.0B not full 2.1)

That means when I switch PS5 to 1440p 120 Hz mode I can use 40 fps mode in every game that supports it. VRR is not required, even if it had bigger 30-120 fps range like Xbox.

GTA4: 2 of its 3 protagonists are white.

GTA Chinatown Wars: A chinese protagonist.

Midnight Club Los Angeles: A white protagonist.

RDR1: 2 white protagonists.

L.A. Noire: 2 white protagonists.

Max Payne 3: A white protagonist.

GTA5: 2 of its 3 protagonists are white.

RDR2: 2 white protagonists (John Marston is reused in this game).

Ok, but what making the skin colour would change, I also like (/s) your definition of white protagonist, Niko for instance is white but he is of different ethnicity, he is Serbian, thanks to that while he is white he is different from other protagonists, not all white people are the same, most of white people on the world come from different countries and cultures same can be said about black or asian people, chinese person is not the same as japanese lmao.

What you said is would be good if what you said wasn't limited to skin colour, not every white person is American lol.

The problem is that 1440p@120Hz without HDMI 2.1 works on a very, very small number of displays. Most HDMI 2.0 displays go down to 1080p when you select the 120Hz mode. Your TV has to be one of those exceptions.

Well I know, as I said my has 2.0B spec which is almost on par with 2.1. But then again more and more TV's are 120 Hz now a days, and not all of them have VRR or Freesync (not needed for 40 fps lock)

But yeah they usually cost more than standard 60 Hz TCL, Samsung or LG.

Niko is a serbian man sure, but he's still a white guy isn't he? You people from other countries, especially from the USA, have this incorrect habit of considering people from other countries as simply canadians, mexicans, europeans and it gets even worse when you're talking about people from Central America and South America, where you simply consider all of us as "latins", while in fact we are white brazilians, black brazilians and so on and this works for every other country too, my point still stands, Rockstar should make their protagonists more ethnically varied.

Just because Niko's skin color is the same as Michael's or Trevor's doesn't mean his story doesn't provide entirely different perspective and culture.

And we are getting Latino woman in GTA VI which is a new thing for the series. But just because she is Latina doesn't mean that it will play big part of the story, if she was born in the USA she probably doesn't have many ties to South America, but let's hope she can speak Spanish at least.

Sure it does, but culture is another subject, we can have many different cultures within the same country, including different languages and so on, this isn't exactly what I was talking about, I know that this is a very delicate subject and I'm trying my best to simply give my opinion without being incorrect myself by mistake and offending someone, so let's not dig too much into the tiniest of details.

All this off-topic PC specs mumbo-jumbo that's appeared in the last couple pages really belongs here instead, come on:

Yeah, but we've moved on already, please don't move the posts :(

Also I was clearly talking about 40 fps support on consoles as well so it wasn't strictly PC.

I wouldn't mind a  story DLC focused on East Asian characters from Korea or Japan, would be cool.

If you think about it we only really had Huang Lee in Chinatown Wars, but that was a small top-down game, not even a PSP game like LCS and VCS.

Rockstar... it's time to get back to making story DLC's for games :sadkek:

Sadly, GTA Online took single player DLC outside and put one in the back of its head.

Such a shame, but maybe they will change their mind... just imagine how HUGE VI map will be...

many areas will end up being underused, these areas could serve a bigger role along new characters in some Story DLC's... I miss this stuff.

TLAD and TBoGT were great and focused more on different areas of the map with cool new characters, mini-games etc.

But if the map is only really saved for 10 year support plan for GTA Online 2 then :sadkek:

To this day I still wonder if Rockstar will make GTA Chinatown Wars characters appear in GTA6 or something, they're in the same universe after all lol, it would be cool to see Luis Lopez and Huang Lee in GTA6.

Would be cool to just randomly find a random event or side missions with them.

Afterall they can only take from GTA IV, Episodes, Chinatown Wars and GTA V.

And pretty sure most of us are tired of GTA V and it's characters :prismkek:

Such a shame ain't it, I guess the only post-release content we'll be getting with this one is temporary fomo vehicles in The Gator Car Club lol. :prismkek:

Not even GTA5's characters like themselves anymore, just ask Steven Ogg what he thinks about Trevor nowadays lol. :prismkek:

After the backlash he copped for being ungrateful/sh*tty about his biggest accomplishment as an actor bringing him basically all of his fame, I'm sure his publicist told him to wake the f*ck up and lean into it.

Is Steven Ogg even getting any big roles in TV or movies? I don't know about Ned Luke but all I hear about him is just GTA V.

I know Ogg was in Better Call Saul, TWD and Westworld, but that was years ago and it was just for episode or few.

GTA San Andreas has the best weight mechanic of every game I ever played, it's so easy to maintain CJ's body exactly how you want it to be, unlike in RDR2 which by simply saving your progress without eating before already makes Arthur lose weight.

My only issue with SA's weight/muscle is that the game would periodically increase your muscle stat for no particular reason even if you never visited a gym, and it was nigh impossible to actually lose muscle. If they bring it back for VI, I very much hope you only gain muscle if you deliberately use gym equipment, and I'd want an easy, convenient way to lose muscle if I change my mind later.

I though that all you needed to do to lose muscle was let the fat bar empty by not eating anything and use the gym bike, I didn't know about this.

He hates Trevor more than Johnny Keblitz's fans after he killed him, he says that it's because Trevor is a "cartoon character", but this is a pretty sh*tty excuse tbh, there must be more to it.

Undead Nightmare 2 would’ve been so damn cool. Shame really is all I’ll say about that

I’m interested into finding out more about these “Guardia brothers” (I believe that was the name) from the leaks. I’m curious if these two brothers are just meaningless strangers or very big players (drug dealers) in the Vice City underworld and maybe even operate outside of Vice City throughout the surrounding areas

A month ago I tried to enter gtavi.com and it redirected you to https://www.rockstargames.com/gta-v

Now it no longer redirects... 👀

On the other hand, the domains for the 7 and 8 (gtavii.comgtaviii.com) which also belong to T2, continue to redirect to the page of the latest GTA within the Rockstar website.

This is a clear indication that they are already working on the VI website, it does not make sense that the domains for FUTURE GTA installments are redirected and not the next one.

Conclusion, the time is coming!
