GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 8] - A VInewood Drama

Recommended Posts

I'm just about done with these absolute tits of GTAO Update news.

It's very much clear they focus on that now - as if that wasn't the case the past freaking decade - and naturally the announcement won't happen during that time. Because why the sh*t would they shoot themselves in the foot?

Theory - GTA V is very old game that well optimized can run great, they're adding Ray-Traced Reflections to E&E in form of update, my theory is that in next updates they will also add Global Illumination and then they will release E&E for PC.

That's pretty much a given for any service game. VI's online mode won't be any different, especially with all the map expansion talk from multiple credible sources. Best to make peace with it because GTAO is what lets R* take whatever time they see fit to make the best possible game they can. That's a very good position to be in, especially with how AAA development times ballooned in the last decade.

"Stay tuned for much more very soon..."

Mfs hyping up some boring ass DLC:prismkek:

"Massive multi-part update"

In other words, first part available for free, the rest only to GTA+ subscribers :prismkek:

God the one interesting thing they add (ray traced reflections) in this DLC and it's not even available on PC. But this does make me wonder what ray tracing features will 6 use?

These experience improvements and more will arrive alongside the next GTA Online update for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, coming later this month.

So basically on new year's eve, I guess :prismkek:

How is real time reflections "unexpected" in 2022 💀

Why this wasn't with the e&e to begin with, maybe it wasn't ready?

At least they didn't leave it with those fake reflections :kekw:

Didn't R* say something similar in an article about GTA III's 10-year anniversary and the next thing was GTA V article but no one payed attention to it because they thought it was going to be something GTA III related?? :sadkek:

I mean , what were we expecting at this point in December honestly ??? We won’t hear anything about GTA VI possibly until late January/ early February which the next realistic time frame lol

The ray-tracing upgrades implemented into GTAV are most definitely backported from GTA VI. The new version of GTAV on PS5/XSX uses SGA-PBR aka Rockstar's physically based rendering pipeline. First implemented with RDR2, and the PS5/XSX V version seems to be using an upgraded version.

I didn't think Rockstar would go to the length of implementing RT reflections on GTAV yet, but consider me surprised.

With PBR, you can expect bricks to look like:
