Here's actual Vice City development stuff though, from my thread many years ago where I visited a museum exhibit on the history game development. The "Brazil" reference has nothing to do with IRL Brazil, but whoever was taking notes just scribbled the Brazil movie logo.

It's a bit hard to read but here it says:

This is all on paper, so this might be just ideas they had but there's a lot of stuff that didn't make it into Vice City, but from the pictures I took and what I remember reading, it was always its own game. You can also see some of the ideas here ended up in other games i.e "Picture of character in military uniform" might've ended up being Vic Vance - and "Truck carrying UFO parts" might've been what became of "Green Goo" in GTA SA.

 

 

 

Of course it wasn't Internet era, official addons (maybe dlc is not a good word) for games were released on cd's, years before gta 3 release. I wrote, that it was information or leak so it's not 100% true.

R* wanted to make a mission pack after GTAIII came out, basically like what London 1961 and 1969 were for GTA, but eventually that whole thing morphed into Vice City. Here's what Leslie Benzies had to say about the case:

After we released GTA3 we spent a few months working on the PC version and then started thinking about things we could put in a mission pack, such as new weapons, vehicles and cool missions, basically anything we had wanted to put into GTA3 but had not been able to do. We realized that there was too much stuff for a mission pack and that it should probably be its own game. We were all on quite a high from finishing GTA3 and I think we all wanted to see where we could take the concept, so the core of the game started falling into place quite quickly.

At least CP77 could be GOTY if it released year later, those other games like FC6 are sh*t even with bugs fixed.

And why they do this? Sounds better and in the future if they want to make remake or remaster they still can name their edition Definitive because they choosen GOTY instead of Definitive.

What do they mean Delayed? The game never had any release window to begin with. It's Spider-Man 2 that is 2023 game.

Bruh, they'll keep on hiring throughout the production. That's usually how it goes.

And the leaked stuff was all pre-alpha footage. Of course, it's gonna change a lot in the next couple of years or so. Just think about it for a moment; we haven't even seen a single official screenshot, let alone a trailer.

I don’t know the ins and outs of how these things works but if they’re still hiring, does that mean we maybe be further from release than previously believed?

They were still hiring folks right when RDR2 dropped, they're always hiring no matter what. Just so happens to pick up production speed they took on more hires for more roles.
