Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if this game is still a lot further off than many of us think. We keep talking 2024/2025, but maybe we don't get GTA VI until 2026/2027? It seems like it's stuck in some type of development hell.

Even in Rockstar’s "crunch" days they were always falling behind schedule with projects. With the now reduced workloads on their team, development may be going nowhere due to the absolute size and scope of the game.

The most recent videos from the leaks, which date from September 2022 look almost as good as the final version of RDR2. Really the only noticeable thing I noticed in those clips were missing/unfinished textures in some places such as street signs, weapons and NPC peds, everything else looked pretty much finished. My guess is that they are mostly done with the map and the graphics and are now focusing on testing all the gameplay mechanics, side content, mission scripts and removing placeholders.

If all the rumours regarding the "reboot" of development are actually true chances are the size and scope of the game have already been shrunk to something more manageable and what we've seen in the leaks is the steady progress they've been making, thankfully.

Obviously this says nothing about when the game releases and it could very much release 2025+ but being involved in a couple of different indie projects doing QA you'd be extremely surprised at the amount of progress that can be made in a month, never mind 2 years of active development within a triple A studio of thousands.

Personally believe late 2025 would be a solid release date, no idea when we'd get information though.

Actually the videos dated from 2019 to 2021

No, they went all the way up to 2022. If you look at the dates on each leaked video, it's the date when the videos were recorded

Weird how you said the leaked videos dated from October 2022 even though the leaks happened in September 2022 or am I misunderstanding something?

Responding to the question of why it seems to be taking a while for this "robust" pipeline to start putting out games—investment banker pressure intensifies—Zelnick said that there are no "productivity issues" at Take-Two. According to him, the company just insists on releasing hits.

"We definitely have very high quality expectations and demands, and that's reflected in the fact that we're performing across the board," Zelnick said. "This company is a hit factory. We haven't had a disappointing release in as long as I can remember, and that's honestly the most important thing."

I think they learned a lesson from Truly GTADE. I don't understand how they rushed to release it and passed the testing.

But even then, I trust them to make the most of their AAA games, so I wouldn't be surprised if R* announces GTA6 without a release date but the year it will be released instead.

Spoiler

Can't wait for GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 9] - The one with no release.🧓🧓

Sorry my bad, I got the month wrong. Yes, the most recent footage from the leaks was from September 2022, only a week before the leaks happened

Salam again,

I've had better discussions with you lot in the past 8 parts (and more over the years) than I did with my ex.

Anyways, like it says in the book: we are blessed AND cursed

Hopefully we will be able to buy safehouses in GTAVI. The last time we were able to do that was in GTA:SA in 2004. GTAV and RDR2 were supposed to have purchasable safehouses, but it was scrapped in both games. So hopefully they don't decide to scrap them again

Always knew that their Bogota office was up to no good. GTA Colombia when? Playing as an advisor or bodyguard to Escobar :bruh: in the 80, 90s

Also I'm just gonna ignore the talk about, god forbid, 2025 release.

Can I suggest things for GTA VI in this forum thread or is there another one specifically for suggestions?

The last few leaked video's (with jason and lucia in black dress walking on the street) already look so good in terms of graphics and environment. City with all of it's props and store names and logo's and the quality of the player models. Only NPC models weren't all finished yet. I really wonder how for in development it would be for this level of quality.

what if take2 did say nothing about new GTA to make drop their stockd, buy stocks on low price, announce VI and sell it with the huge profit? imo it make sense, but I don't know it's legal 🤔🤔🤔

That is a huge chunk of the game. They said in interviews the map is the first thing they do, and the things you say they may be focusing could take several years to complete.

Funnily that is a legitimate strategy and I do believe they've taken advantage of stock drops before to make announcements :kekw: Because of delays to games like Kerbal Space Program and Marvel's Midnight Suns, alongside mobile market variation, they decreased their earnings forecasts for the next quarter which caused investors to sell stock, so if they dropped a VI announcement or something really major like that, their stock would bounce back like a rocket ship :fartkek:

How do you guys think GTA VI will handle interiors? Even though GTA 5 had a lot of non-loading interiors, in gta online almost all interiors (garages, penthouses, casino) require a loading screens. Do you think GTA 6 will completely get rid of loading screens (also in online) or use the same mechanics?

Edit: now that I think about it, RDR2 online i think doesn't have any loading screens for interiors. Of course it's not within a huge city with hundreds of buildings, but maybe the tech in that RAGE version already allows for seamless interior entry even in online mode

There's only one way to look at it. R* still hasn't officially revealed the game. Most likely, there'll be at least a year between the reveal and release, if not more. There are credible people going on record saying R* employees think it is a mid-late 2024 game at this point in time. Visuals are one of the last things AAA devs do to keep up with time, so that'll get improved considerably. RDR2 looked noticably better than it's trailers in many scenarios.

In my opinion, the game is further along than most of us think, but not nearly far enough for R* to show it off or release it quickly.
