AudioFX is an add-on for DYOM that expands the possibilities of working with the soundtrack. Now you can add tracks that will last for several purposes (similar to an am.mp3 file).
The author of the original AudioFX is andre500, I just modified the script and fixed some flaws.

 

How to use:
Music is added to the SD folder, on the same principle as regular soundtracks in DYOM. For an example of the correct design of sound files, see F.A.Q.
X_.mp3 — Track, which will last until the music ends or is stopped by a special file.
The file name is written as "1_.mp3", "5_.mp3", "15_.mp3", etc. That is, without 0 at the beginning and with an underscore after the target number.
X_loop.mp3 — is a track that will repeat indefinitely until it is stopped using a special file.
X_pause — Pause the track. This file is added separately for each purpose (similar to XX.noa files).
X_stop — Stop the track completely.
X_vol- — Lower the track volume by 50%. After finishing, pausing or moving to the next track, the volume returns to standard.
X_vol+ — Set the standard volume of the track.

 

Fixes and improvements:
- Now the playback and stopping of tracks will occur smoothly with the increase/decrease of sound
- Fixed binding to objectives. Now the audio will be played exactly during the specified goal, and not after it.
- The script now works in storyline missions as well
- Now multiple AFX tracks can be automatically played one after the other

Disadvantages of this version:
The add-on will not work with projects made on the original version of AudioFX from andre500 and vice versa. However, you can install both versions of the script, there were no conflicts between them.

How to create X_pause, X_stop and X_vol files?
You need to create a text file, completely erase the name along with the extension and specify the necessary name (you do not need to specify the extension)

The original script of the mod had a bug. When you loaded a new mission, the sound of the mission you were previously played. No matter how many times you load other ones, it always will play the sound of the first mission you loaded. The only way to avoid that is starting a new game.

If @SIZZZ makes Carrec Paths possible, this is going to break whole DYOM. However - I don't think it would be that easy. He can follow Mission Maker code somehow but:

 

- If that would be separate modification, we probably would need to attach that to our DYOM mission folders - so it wouldn't be "implanted" like on Mission Maker

- Naloger once said, that it's a very hard thing to implement

 

But we'll see. If yes, he'll break the whole DYOM with this technique. However i would suggest something, if that even happens:

 

- Carrec is usually freezing the car, therefore after a route you can't really "unfreeze" the car, and you can't do "driving to route" animations, and back in fourth so if that can be somehow bypassed - amazing!

 

And of course - break dyom in a "good way" - popularity ofc :D 

 

Thanks to having Mission Maker pretty much "not encrypted" he can try and replicate some of the Mission Maker greatest additions for sure, and upgrading them to be even better. For example, as an addon I would love to see:

 

- New Horn Objective if possible

- Character Accesories just like here: watch?v=MvIL8cSWLzE

- Clothes Shops like here: watch?v=OYeFOjInHgM

- Putting actor as a turret like here: watch?v=LsaXwMIyYGQ

 

It's a room to work with, we'll see what comes from it. I believe the next addon that will be ported to English here will be a Smoke Grenade addon from Libertycity.net so it will be neat :)

Break dyom is not the right set of words but rather expand on DYOM's features would be the right wording.

Regardless, you make some pretty good points and hopefully we'll be able to see SIZZ pull that off too, some popularity to revive DYOM would be nice.

Any idea why GTA crashes after mp3 stops playing? I did create 10_.mp3 for my 9th objective and it starts playing perfectly, but when the sound is finished I get crash
