How you doing Mr. Bytes,

I got the good old unhandled exception error when I loaded the game on administrator. (The game didn't start it just gave me the error instead)

I downloaded the game from the "Full Mod (enjoy, or not):" link. Then I download the Streamer friendly radio folder and copied whats in it into the existent audio folder (I only replaced the folders like "EMOTION.adf" or "ESPANT.adf")

Update: I found a fix to that. We are just going to pretend that didn't happen. I got a new unhandled exception. This time the "at address" says: 10041f9c. Could it be the vc_traffic.asi in the "scripts" folder?

UPDATE: I found a fix for this, I just added it to the DEP.

Yes, this mod, Tightened Thrice, and Tightened'reas are all by the same author.

 

The reason why Tightened'reas doesn't have its own thread is because the mod's not finished yet as of this writing.

I Just beat V.I.P here and all of the save areas are gone. (Like When I go to the Kaufman Cab, I can't save there, because the save area you save on in just gone.) I beat Friendly Rivarly hoping to fix that, but that doesn't work. Have no clue what to do. I don't want to use the autosave and have to drive all the way to the 2nd island to start Cabmaggedon. Any help???!?!??!?

Collect hidden packages and/or do rampages.
The autosave on occasion can clutter up the game's "pickup memory", doing the above frees up those slots which should result in the save icons reappearing once you enter/exit a mission and they get reloaded.

I believe that's most likely to be caused by Windows DEP. I'd suggest either turning that feature off, or grabbing the "noDEP" asi plugin from somewhere and dropping that in your Tightened Vice folder.

Hello!

 

Unfortunately I have a problem with launching a new game. 

 

I get an error with the code: c000005  10041f9c

 

The manipulations with DEP did not help.

 

 Installed on a clean GTA, but it is possible that the problem in the assembly itself, but another clean gta I unfortunately can not find.

The only other times I've seen that specific error code have been DEP related. Have you tried the "noDEP" asi plugin too, just to completely rule out that possibility?

Tried the noDep plugin, didn't help.

Tried other clean builds of the game, unfortunately also did not help.

 

Can there be a problem in the operating system?

 

edited:  I don't think it's with the system. My normal game runs perfectly, even with mods. Hardlined etc. starts up too. But for some reason it is with this particular mod some problem

Then i'm kinda out of ideas. It could be a Win 11 thing, I suppose.... or perhaps some conflict with plugins. I suppose the other option would be to start removing plugins one by one to see if one of them causes a conflict with your particular setup; but of course certain parts of the mod rely upon a lot of those, so it's risky.

Hello. I've just come here from trying HardLined, but backed down after completing 'Demolition Man' when I found out that it was meant to be nightmare inducing and wasn't fully skill based through and through.

I've installed this mod on versions 1.1 and 1.0 separately, extracted the mod right in the game directory (not like a change in the .exe file which would be replaced anyway will make much of a difference lol).

I've been getting Unhandled exception  c000005 errors and found that it was caused by the d3d8.dll file from the widescreen fix mod by ThirteenAG that comes bundled in. With d3d8.dll I got it at address 66afcd0b, and when I installed the ddraw component to be used with SilentPatch, I got a new address: 66afcd0b. Weird.

To make the game playable again I had to rename d3d8.dll to d3d8.dll.bak to disable the Widescreen fix entirely. Now I have the game running at native 1920 x 1080 resolution thanks to ddraw.dll. However, I still cannot turn on widescreen mode ingame due to the bug in the vanilla game where the crosshair is misaligned on widescreen mode. In my game, Tommy has not only had Weetabix, but he's also had a bit too many deep fried mars bars.
I really hope there is a way to fix this issue. I also have an Nvidia graphics card. I've tested the game with an intel GPU as well, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. I'm pretty sure I installed it correctly, but I don't see snow either. 🥲

Did you try noDEP first? Seems to be the most common solution for these sort of issues.

If you're not seeing snow, something definitely went wrong though, that should be happening immediately and be visible as Ken runs back to his office. You're not trying to mix in SkyGFX or anything similar, are you? Unfortunately that is not compatible with the scripts controlling the additional weather stuff.

Hey there! I am almost at 100% completion, I just have an issue with paramedic (that some people in this topic have already had before).

  • I have tried from almost all hospitals to complete the side missions, however sometimes patients randomly die. It almost always to persons not near me, and it seems they have died due to let's say, insufficient aquatic capabilities. For example, at the hospital near Little Havana, they may die at the opposite side, the edge of the island without a border. I also remember them dying by walking of the edge near the wrecked ship. Whenever a patient falls into the water, I don't immediately fail, but sometime afterwards.
  • Sometimes they don't die, but just get stuck on random geometry, in my experience only on the left island. Some spots include: a pole right next to a gray building near the offroad-track in Downtown, in the corner of the weird, gray/beige, walled-off section with lots of peds behind the Love Fist building(s) also in Downtown, the wall seperating the grassy area next to the lane and water.
  • I recall you stating that they are supposed to travel between ped paths, but I'm just really confused as to how this happens. Maybe the ped paths get confused with the paths of boats??? Just guessing. 

I don't have any screenshots/clips right now, but perhaps I can send some at a later date.

Update: Alright, so just yesterday, I had tried to get the game to launch with the Widescreen patch a few more times after posting here. Reading the other comments, I just installed fixes suggested by you and others, including noDEP. Along with this I had installed the widescreen patch separately again (I saw that your mod's d3d9.dll takes 2194 KB of space while the latest version of the patch's dll takes 2107 KB).

To my surprise it worked! I decided that I'd post again today to blame the d3d9.dll file in the mod. Just now I realize it was actually the noDEP file that did the job. I've already excluded gta-vc.exe in the Data Execution Prevention tab, but for some reason I didn't see a difference. I did it with the help of a youtube video but I guess it doesn't matter now, heh. I've confirmed that it was the noDEP file just before replying. Renaming this file to something else gives me the same error but at address 10041f9c.

Also, I just checked out the snow with the correctly working widescreen fix, booting up a new game. The snow actually did appear this time. It seems that the lack of snow reported earlier was due to me testing it out at a save where I've entered the Ocean View Hotel and saved there. This may have affected the weather where the snow has stopped falling 😅

Earlier, I had installed on a completely fresh copy. I kept ddraw.dll but that's about it. 

I'll make sure to finish this mod. Thanks for making this! Also thank you English Ben for getting me into these difficulty mods, you have a nice voice

I believe the one most people settle on is the hospital by the mall. 

It is an odd one, kinda hard to test due to the way ped pathing works (and could have been effected by the overhaul of paths in the latest patch too). Something I can look into in the future, but with Tightened'reas and LC'01 on my plate, it'll be a while before I have time to deep-dive.

I have another issue with the game, and it's yet another error at address 005c2d01. This first occurred to me in the mission 'Mall Shootout' (the name is changed but I didn't want to spoil it). 

This always happens a while after I obtain the guidance chips, when I get a 3 star wanted level. The game suddenly crashes with this error and I'll have to start all over again. I managed to beat the mission by waiting for the courier to reach the Pay n Spray at Vice Point and then killing him there and quickly getting into the garage to get rid of the cops. Are there any changes made to the police vehicles that may cause the issue? Just before I've come here I've crashed even outside the mission, with a two star wanted level.

That's a new one to me, though googling it seems to be an issue some people get in vanilla for "no reason" too... very strange.

Nothing has changed about police behaviour, no.

It's a memory issue with the autosave, pickup slots are all filled, so Phil's guns try and spawn but cannot and it crashes.

You'll need to grab hidden packages and/or do rampages to free up the required memory, I'm afraid.

Hello Mr. Dinosaur Bytes! As a long time fan of you and English Ben. I would like to ask:Do you take suggestions for the songs in your tightened mods? I have a couple of songs from my native language that could make for a great radio station in your Tightened'reas mod.

Again, it's entirely up to you Sir! You make the best mods and it's not even close!

Alright, I've done some experimenting, an I found the solution to this. It seems removing ddraw.dll fixes the crashing issue that occurs in these circumstances. So now all I need for my copy is the mod and noDEP.asi. Cheers.

Nevermind, I just got the crash again. It seems like removing ddraw reduces the frequency of crashes, though I may be wrong here.

No really taking requests, already got a lengthy hand selected playlist of additional tunes (plus non-English songs would likely feel out of place on most stations).

In case you are curious about the language itself, it's called rifain( in French) or Rifian( in English) language and I could send you  a song to listen to if you want. 

Just to clarify(It's actually a dialect of Tamazight, but a lot of us rifians consider it as a standalone language due to the immense respect we have for it).

I have a feeling that the camera was more of a blessing than a curse. It makes it so much easier to wait in missions. During the mission 'Manlet Minders', I ended up taking shots of Diaz and the Cubans from different angles, like I'm shooting some weird B movie. It was fun :)

Yes lol, intentional. This is a route speedrunners typically take, so it's a bit of a bait-and-switch.

Having so much fun playing around with the mod, but I've noticed that check out at the check in and gun runner missions give me an unhandled exception and my game just crashes, check out at the check in crashes once the opening cutscene ends, and gun runner crashes once I smash the first crate. Any solutions?
