It seems to be related to the memory issue with the pickup pool (which makes it very hard to test). The most effective way to fix it at the moment appears to be by getting rid of any pickups around the map, so things like hidden packages, rampages etc. Get rid of a few of those, and missions can spawn pickups again.

Not the most elegant solution, but so far the only consistent one.

Quite the opposite, it seems extremely elegant! Almost like you intended it this way.

 

I'll gladly go on a run for packages and rampages. Thanks for a great mod! I'm currently in a bad place emotionally, and being able to replay my favorite games is a gift. You have both great skills and taste, the whole mod is a delight.

Wow, just completed the story. What a masterpiece. Truly the mod fan-community needed: replayable, witty and high quality. Probably the best mod there is.

After using the wardrobe in the hotel room, and picking an outfit, it spawned me inside vercetti mansion room but the interior wasn't even loaded, resulting in being stuck in a locked void (as the mansion wasn't unlocked yet and neither was starfish island). I had to reload a save, and so I reloaded the autosave since I had no manual save available, and now the wardrobe outfit pickup is completely missing. Do  I have to start a new game?

The wardrobe pickup inside the hotel shouldn't be there in the first place, I'm not sure why it was to begin with.
The intended wardrobes appear in buildings you acquire throughout the game too, so you should be fine on your current save.

Gotta say I've been playing this mod since the first versions and I love how it's still being updated, thanks a lot _Rob_!

 

Also, I instantly recognized the Strip / Pole Position club song as "Robert Miles - Children", but turns out it wasn't, the song used is "Nitro Praise - Nitro Praise 4 - 03 Awesome God" which had a sample of the previously mentioned song lol

I also started getting Unhandled Exception, despite the mod working some time ago. I am using the Steam version. Tried the downgraded or normal.

Also, why do I exactly need a downgraded version, when the mod contains an exe that overwrites that is in the game folder anyway?

Hard to help without any more info than "unhandled exception". Perhaps DEP or something?
You also probably don't need to downgrade any more, earlier versions of the mod shipped without a modified EXE and the instruction stuck around to be safe.

Yeah, sorry about that. I meant that as a response to similar issues on page 3 etc.

The curious thing was, that I played the mod before on my PC no problem, and now I started it and it kept showing the unhandled exception.

Specifically

exception c0000005

at address 10041f9c

 

Yeah, I thought so about the downgrading, since the exe is 3017kb which is the 1.0 version. I will keep trying. DEP wasnt a problem before for any mod tho, Vice City, III and SA all ran fine with multiple mods.

 

EDIT: so I turned off DEP and it works. I didn't think of it at first, because the mod worked before, but apparently somehow, someway, that was it. Strange.

Do you mind if I port this to the Definitive Edition? Because I was already able to partially get it to work on the Definitive Edition, but the game crashes every 10-20 minutes and sometimes it can crash when starting a new game. This needs to be improved if possible, and at the moment it is without CLEO scripts.

 

And I also know how to edit radio and text in the Definitive Edition.

I mean if you really want to.... but you're on your own there, I'm afraid.

I wouldn't touch DE with a ten foot pole even if you paid me.

Hi, I liked your idea to combine the radio from GTA 3 and Liberty City Stories. But could you do the same with VC?

V-Rock [2:32:43]

Wave 103 [2:2:07]

 

And I also combined Fever 105 with Paradise FM because they are very similar [1:54:43]

And K-Chat replaced to VCFL [38:54] I don't think many need talk radio stations]

And Wildstyle combined with Fresh 105 FM [1:38:11]

Why the game crashes because of a file d3d8.dll ? I had to remove it, but without the Widescreen Fix I won't play.

By that loadscreen alone, I can tell you're using other mods too... So it could literally be anything causing incompatibility, this is why I strongly advise not to.

On the mission "Bombs away!" nothing happens after I bomb all enemies. What might be the problem?

Likely one of the boats flipped, but isn't actually destroyed.

I too am getting the flickering with the snow, I am using a 1060, just mentioning the gpu as someone suggested it could be a gpu related issue, also I tried turning off the framelimiter & it didn't make any difference & one more thing... is weetabix lore?

Aye, it seems totally random who does and who doesn't get the flickering snow thing... very strange. Definitely would never suggest turning off the frame limiter though, it breaks physics and makes several missions impossible!

Weetabix is a breakfast food in the UK (though I assume you know that), with a somewhat common phrase about people with a lot of energy being "somebody's had their Weetabix today". Based on this old advertising campaign:

Pretty fun mod, been laughing at it pretty hard so far. One question though. Am I meant to be locked out of Vercetti mansion forever? After I took it over from Diaz I could enter from the back but the front door remains boarded up. Even after completing Cop Land I am still blocked from using the front door. Bit annoying having to go around the back just to enter the mansion.

Yes, Tommy doesn't own the mansion just because he killed the former inhabitant.
In hindsight the joke probably isn't worth the inconvenience, however mild, though the PCJ that spawns inside allows for a quick exit. "Fixing" it would brick existing saves though, so it doesn't feel worth it at this point.

I avoided similar memes for Thrice, and shall be continuing to do so as I work on Tightened'reas though, live and learn!

Hi, I just created an account here to give feedback about this awesome mod.

I'm using the latest version (2.25) and the game crashes every time the crates are destroyed during Gun Runner. I left Phil Cassidy missions almost for last. I still have to do Print Work missions and the assets that don't have real missions (like Boatyard and Pole Position).

In older builds I'd erroneously used the same handle for a gun that spawns in 'Manlet Minders' as one of the pickups that spawns during 'Gun Runner'. If you're using a save that's been through multiple versions of the mod, that old gun could still be up on top of the Rafael's roof in Ocean Beach. If so, collecting that should remove the ID duplicate and hopefully fix the issue.

It's my first time playing this mod, fresh install of this version, meaning I didn't have any savefiles and there was no gun in Rafael's roof.

I loaded a save before completing Kaufman Cabs and I managed to fix it by picking the Hidden Package in Phil's trailer AND the Remote Grenades after you start the Gun Runner. The thing is that in my main save the Remote Grenades wouldn't even spawn at the start of the mission, but picking another Hidden Package fixed it.

I'm not expert in this topic but it seems like it has something to do with maximum objects that can exist on an area? I guess the game assumes you already picked some packages and other stuff before you reach this point.

Yes, that's also possible. A lot more enemies dropping a lot more guns can clutter up the pickup pool if you're not grabbing packages, doing rampages etc.

Ok I am loving the mod so far, nice to have a real challenge!

 

However I have just finished 'Rub Out' & noticed I cannot pick up the armour in the mansion, also I get an unhandled exception after the cutscene of 'Love Juice'

Just cleared all missions. Loved the mod.
Made an epic 2x2 based on my experience.
One of my last attempts of G-spotlight made me actually rage, because one of the SWAT guys that dropped from the heli popped my tire the last second before doing the final jump. Thanks for the mod.
