How do I update my launcher?

Spoiler

Copy the complete files of the new version into your existing R2P folder and start launcher (has an integrated update function)

Wow, this is absolutely brilliant @LuKeStorm! GTA 1 and the London games at 30fps finally, rather than the original frame rate of 24fps. And my original save files work too. And, since it's the Windows version, it will be possible to play direct IP multiplayer with it. Thanks so much for this, what a great way to celebrate the 25th anniversary!

Nice one, right, beauty! What a way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of GTA, even though I am a day late to the celebration, having all three games remastered on such a day is nothing short of respect. This version may even rival the MAX PACK by Toshiba-3. I have not played all the way through this version of the 2D trilogy, but it all looked good to me from the outside and among the few things I messed around with in-game. I love the CRT filter you added and combined with the aspect ratio option makes for a nostalgic joyride, I am not sure what to think about the other filters. Bilinear, scanline, fast-sharpen, and xbr-lv2-noblend are the only ones I noticed any real differences on. Albeit small, they made a difference in comparison to the other filters on this list where I saw little to no effect at all, although that could just be my laptop acting funny. Something I noticed about London 1969 and 1961 is that both have scores from previous games, I think you may have forgotten to fix that, but it is not really a big deal breaker. There are some suggestions I would like to add to improve the experience, I'll leave the glitch hunting to others or when I eventually get back into the spirit of the game.

Quick edit: There's only two languages at the moment, hope to see support for other languages in an update. Also, what does the German flag icon at the upper right do?

HUD needs an update: Don't get me wrong, I like the HUD, it gives off a typical 90's or 2000's vibes just from the way it looks alone. But the background picture looks rushed and somewhat bland along with the very few options you are allowed to choose from. I think the HUD could use a small update for both the options and the picture itself, along with an option to play the game separately with their own unique menus and backgrounds to match the game you choose. Also, for some reason, there's two descriptions missing for the "Vsync" and "Aspect ratio" option when I tried to hover my mouse over them. One option that definitely needs to be included is the "Controls" menu, I know you could just look inside the folders and change the controls from there but a quick click on the HUD instead navigating the folders would be nice. I guess you could also include having the 2D GTA maps as an option, but I'm sure most people know how to do a quick search and find them on Bing or Google so this is not really a priority, although it would be nice.

3DFX & Low Color Mode: This one may be a stretch and probably impossible to include seeing as this is running on the Windows version of 2D GTA games, but it would be nice to play with these options. I know there is not really any real reason to play with these versions and I do not have a good argument to justify their inclusion should they be implemented aside from low color's different graphics and possibly better framerate. I guess that's more up to you as I feel this package is overall solid.

That is all I could really offer as suggestions and from what I have noticed outside the games. I do not want to come off as ungrateful or as whiny for this port, I am not, thanks to your contribution the game runs better and plays better. Not to mention, the multiplayer is much more accessible and less of a headache to set up than the MAX PACK version which required a few you to do some outside programming to even do. So again, you have my and the thanks of everyone in the GTA community.

Grammar Correction & Tweaks

Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated :)

London 1969 & 1961 scores from previous games
I will fix with an update

Missing tooltips at "Vsync" and "Aspect ratio"
Thought that they don't need more explanation. Will I think about adding in the future

"Controls" menu
You can already open the controls via right click on "Play Game". I have also written in the info, I thought that you don't have to go there so often and have decided for this way.
But should be more visible and not an "Easter Egg", good point.

HUD/Design of Launcher
I didn't want to overload it, but I thought about adding some details. Maybe I will change something in the future, but it has no priority. (Is also always a matter of taste)

The other languages are already included. But currently you can only select English and German in the launcher. Will be changed with the upcoming update.

German flag icon at the upper right
Changes the language for the launcher to German or English if German is active. (You can switch at any time)

Glad you found my suggestions useful. The HUD is not a priority obviously, but it could do with a lot more style, but I suppose it is a matter of taste. Was not aware of the fact that the controls menu was hidden in plain sight by right clicking the "play game" text, guess that's what happens when you skim through the "read me" text file, so I take full responsibility for that blunder. Thanks for letting me know what the German icon does, when I talked about different languages in a future update, I meant for the HUD not necessarily in-game as it already came with that in the files in the "settings". Hope to see great strives with for this decompiled or reverse engineered version of the 2D games. You got my support.

I would say this windows version here with the improved compatibility is even more recommendable. (gameplay makes no difference)
The widescreen patch ensures on higher resolutions that the aspect ratio fits (16:9 and 4:3) + texts aren't too small or large. (Works differently than the widescreen patch by ThirteenAG)

Thank you @LuKeStorm, I've been trying unsuccessfully to get ThirteenAGs widescreen patch to work all year, now I can finally enjoy the original GTA in true widescreen! This package is amazing! Great work. Are there any plans to add 3DFX glide mode like on MAX PACK? Would this be possible?

Exists internally actually already, don't know yet when I'll release it. Would also like to look over again, because the rendering (Direct3D) is different and I want to check the function and especially compatibility again. (I think legally it shouldn't be a problem)

You're welcome :)
Adding 3DFX glide mode would certainly be possible, but I don't plan to do it.

Is it possible to enable the intro FMV sequence at the beginning of each game?

It would be possible, but does anyone really want to see an intro sequence that only shows the developer/publisher logo?

Gaming purists who want everything to be a 1:1 of the original product(s): are we a joke to you?

In all honestly, I wouldn't mind it existing or not, I'm fine with what we currently have.

As ThermalSmoke said, I'm a bit of a gaming purist, haha.

Anyway, it's up to you to add it or not. Honestly, isn't a big deal for me either. But can I change some config manually if I want to enable it anytime?

With a small upcoming update you will be able to disable/enable the intro as you like

No, because I have disabled the intro directly in exe file.

can you include the features from game boy version like that unique character?

also, it gives me error 404 when i press the download link

Gameboy version features: Not planned, I don't plan to add new features or change gameplay in general.
Download link works again. Was either reported or detected by internal system that it violates google guidelines

and it's with the max mod?

and where is gta 2 the complete package?

Max Pack (Mod) isn't included. (my R2P package only contains the Windows version of the game and isn't compatible with the DOS version used by the "Max Pack")
GTA2 package:  I don't know yet when I'll release it

That's great. Thank you so much.

Something I noticed in GTA 2 using Widescreen Fix is a minor number of pedestrians and cars, probably due the FOV. Do you think it would be possible to fix that with your version?

Awesome gift for anniversary, I wished rockstar would make a small remaster like this for steam! Like Bethesda did with Quake 1 but no I guess..

I don't plan to fix anything regarding Widescreen for GTA2, probably won't even be included. (But not sure yet)

Will There Be Any Future Plans to put support for steam by replacing the original files for gta?

Yes I plan to include a feature that you can use the launcher for the Steam version and everything will be set up automatically.

In the meantime, who already wants to use it for the Steam version (manual way)

Spoiler

1.Copy the content of the GTA R2P Edition folder to the WINO folder
2.Rename or move Grand Theft Auto exe file (in case you want to restore the original file)
3.Rename Launcher file to Grand Theft Auto file
4.Launch the game via steam, Enjoy! (Overlay is working too)

First of all, thanks for the great work on the package!

Is it possible to play the games at 30 fps without speeding up the gameplay? If so, how? I tried disabling the framelimiter and capping the framerate to 30 in rivatuner, but it was still super sped up.

Is there any way to save the game? like a quicksave/save state feature. I think it only saves when you complete an area.

1.You can try to open the "ddraw" ini in Game folder with any editor and set "maxgameticks" to "30".
2.No, unfortunately not.

Cranes in London 1961 seem to give only 100 pounds for every car, which is same glitch Max Pack has (not sure if it's on all versions of London 1961). I'm curious is the glitch also here which causes game to crash when finishing TV Van-mission in the end of 1961, I don't really wanna test it out myself now as you gotta go through the previous missions of 1961 before each attempt of that mission and it's difficult to finish too like all the missions on this dlc, and there are no save states to use either... But yeah, the game is looking and working nicely otherwise
