There were a few issues with the game itself, too. The most significant one I remember was that the speed at which cores drained was tied to the frame rate (I assume the mechanic was optimized for the consoles' 30FPS); while it was fixed relatively quickly, it really sucked if you had a high refresh rate display (at the time, I ran the game with a 1440p 144hz monitor, so in the worst-case scenarios, my cores would drain ~4-5x faster than intended).

As much as i am a PC gamer at heart, i suspect i'll be playing VI on my PS5 for a good 6-12 months before it even comes out on PC.  So i'd like to vote for PC, but the realist in me says that it just won't be happening at launch.

Hopefully my 2080 Super and Ryzen 3700x is enough to get 60fps on 1440p. If the development started after RDR2 and around 2019 the 2k series of GPU's became available, they would have used those to make the game. Hoping its well optimized for the 2019-2020 era systems.

I think a good thing to do is just make a comparison to the current gen PS5 spec which is a bit less than Series X. This would probably get you 4K (upscaled) and 60fps.

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6GHz no boost.

16GB RAM

RTX 2070 Super

PCIe4 SSD

Also worth noting that if you aren't wealthy, just buying a PS5 is more affordable than building a machine like a PS5. And the console game will run better than the PC equivalent spec because of optimization.

As for minimum specs, who knows, maybe just do the same but for Series S.

Even if performance isn't to your liking right off the bat, PC games are so customisable that there's always at least something you can tweak to hit what you're aiming for. It's something I've been thinking a ton about lately so you aren't alone in wondering how it'll fare on your current set-up. My guess is it'll run pretty similarly to RDR2, maybe just a little more intense given the inclusion of modern vehicles, more peds roaming around, etc. If you can run RDR2, you'll probably be able to run GTA VI.

Same here. If it does not come to PC at launch I will buy a PS5 and new TV just for the game. I'm tired of all waiting for the new GTA game.

With GPU prices dropping recently and actually being affordable, I'm curious if people are going to upgrade their PCs to play VI or go for a console instead.

No, a pivotal and overlooked thing about PC gaming is mouse and keyboard. I'm not playing for the graphics only, I play on PC because I play much better with mouse and keyboard than I do with a controller.

Mouse and keyboard only good for shooting, for everything else a controller with dualsence like features hit different

I'm mainly a PC player but GTA only feels right to me on controller, even when I play GTA on PC I use a PS controller.

Did you both perhaps migrate from console to PC at some point?

I played console up until I was like 12 and I've been PC for the last 13 years. I prefer mouse and keyboard on every other game I play (Val, Siege, League, CS) but GTA really only feels right to me on controller.

wait, there was an airport there? I only remember like a subway or something. Was it the inside of the airport?

With the hovercraft driven by Jason. Cloudy weather and skyscrapers in the background. Can't link it here ofc.

Contreversial take: GTA 6 shouldn't do a PC release alongside console release. It's been a rough year for PC gaming as it is, and I'll greatly appreciate rockstar taking their time to optomize the game to PC.

Based. But still no bloodborne PC for us :(

I think GTAVI will be on the same level of optimization as consoles

We already saw in leaks that the build worked on PC

Almost had in my the 1st half.

My take on that is though is that they should delay the game until it's ready to go on all three platforms. :)

I will try the game on my gtx1660S first to see if it can run before adding the new gpu:fartkek:, if on PC by release of course. At least on lowest settings it should be able to run.

If they have a team for that which just focuses on the PC version,  it might be fine? It can release alongside consoles and be really well optimized unlike in the past with their games I think. But a short delay wouldn't be bad either as long as the pc release is close to the console one.

I have absolutely 0 faith in my 1060 to be able to handle VI lol. I’ve been saving up a little bit every month for quite some time now so I can buy a console or upgrade my PC when VI launches because my current setup will explode if I try to launch VI on it :kekw:

Buy a console if you wanna play on release day, and then save up money for a new GPU during the time it takes VI to come to PC.

My setup needs more than just a new GPU I’m afraid :kekw:

Though I’m waiting to know whether it’ll release on PC day one. Otherwise I’ll just buy a console first and upgrade my PC later.

No game actually supports DirectStorage.

Forspoken does (and it works quite well even with it being the earlier 1.1 version of the API), and Nixxes was "looking into" DirectStorage during Spider-Man Remastered's development which may mean that Ratchet & Clank's port is next.

I pray to the Almighty that they consider day one PC launch. Cause looking at the recent showcase most games are being locked to 30 frames ( some informer said Starfield is being locked to 30 FPS ( but running 20 fps; looking at this many people have said they will play the game on pc and not get it on consoles ) which many customers may not like. Rockstar Games want to break sales records day one of launch and they know people will not like a good game being fixed at 30 frames so I guess they may consider this. It will be their first time releasing their beast game on all platforms if they consider this 😊

GTA 6 will probably be the only game to require an SSD at minimum requirements. I mean, even at the lowest distance scaling, I can't even possibly imagine HDD handling that size of a map.

I have GTA 5 on HDD and before like in 2020 it gave me like 120 fps. As of now it has reduced to 70 frames on max settings. I am really scared for my PC

Also it will very likely support DLSS (With frame generation?) and FSR.

Also will support Ray tracing. Blasting through Miami with the beautiful ray traced lighting will be absolutely Gorgeous.
