rayman3
I haven't been following the news during the past few weeks regarding the leaks since everyone were reporting the same things in media. When the leaks occurred, I believed they wouldn't necessarily comment on it at all or comment very late. However... now I realized there is potentially more to it than just video clips. What I would like to know is whether any user data was compromised or stolen in any form? Rockstar's tweet did not comment on user data at all, which is slightly concerning. It is concerning also because Take-Two is a publicly traded company and 2K's support software had an intrusion recently, and Rockstar uses the same support software as 2K. It is also not all that uncommon for companies under one umbrella to share some infrastructure/IT. I personally haven't felt any closure because of these questions, I was wondering if someone could enlighten me on what is the latest accurate information. Have there been any more announcements from T2 or Rockstar elsewhere? It is of course very much possible the investigation is still on-going so there isn't any conclusive information to share yet. I would really like to see a post-mortem much like Uber did, because it explained what was impacted and how. Edited October 16 by rayman3
Spider-Vice
As far as it's publicly known, no user data was exfiltrated out of Rockstar, only corporate data such as GTA V code/tools, GTA VI documentation and videos. All else is speculation or outright fake. There were no mentions of actual customer data in the Rockstar leak just based on all the screenshots that have popped up from Telegram groups or DM's, and if they did see or download this content, it was never distributed as far as it's known. The person who posted the leaks here on the forums never mentioned any customer data either, just game information. The 2K hack doesn't seem to have been related to the Rockstar hack because it doesn't seem to quite match the MO of the suspected hacker group. 2K had its ZenDesk application broken into via a 3rd party (allegedly by 2K), which then mass-sent emails to customers with open tickets with a link to a malicious program. I'm not entirely sure if any customer personal data was exfiltrated, I also don't think so. A public post-mortem coming out of both would be very nice for informational purposes, and for people like yourself who are more worried about personal data potentially having leaked, but putting the information together, it doesn't seem like there were any personal info leaks. rayman3 1 GTANet | Red Dead Network | black lives matter | stop Asian hate | trans lives = human lives
