cant remember
Since GTA6 is (eventually) coming I think it's time for me to replay all of the previous GTA games, including some I've never played before. Now I'm wondering if I should play them in the order they came out, or in the chronological order that the games are set in. And whether I should bother with some of them (eg. GTA London which I don't have, and GTA Advance) Tru Company
YusufAmirsBF
You don't have to bother with games that came before GTA 3 and I recommend to play them in the order they came out as GTA titles always evolved in terms of sandbox activities and so on. It would be weird to go back to GTA 3 from SA, VC or VCS and since you played them already before, I think you can agree with that. AkshayKumar
With regards to the 3D era, if you can obtain all these games I would suggest this order: GTA III-> Liberty City Stories-> Vice City-> Vice City Stories-> San Andreas The HD era games I would suggest: GTA IV-> TLaD-> TBoGT-> Chinatown Wars(can skip if you don't want to play a top down GTA)-> GTA V Play 3D era before HD era I would say but sometimes you could get the urge to play a certain game so if you don't feel like going through the games in an order then that's fine. Krooked_
I'd say play them in order of release since each new installment always introduces something new that you wouldn't appreciate if you play them chronologically. Your gameplay experience will also be more consistent when it comes to the controls, mechanics etc.
Donald Lov
Play all of the 3D ones in order, and make sure you go out of your way and pick up the Stories and Episodes from Liberty for a complete experience.
