Personano
Hey everyone, for the past few days I've been experiencing this strange bug on my Steam copy of GTA IV. I'm on 1.0.8.0 and have noticed that after 40 minutes to an hour of play the world and its textures will begin to unload, leaving entire buildings and roads missing. From what I've read it seems to be an issue with proper VRAM recognition, though no fix I've tried has worked so far (run as administrator, commandline.txt, Steam launch options, etc). The correct number shows in the menu yet it doesn't seem like anything is improved upon in terms of texture popping. As for mods, I use DayL's Natural Timecycle alongside various HD texture upgrades and miscellaneous additions like ZMenu, ZolikaPatch, taxi big fix, and Project Thunder. Is there a possibility the game can't keep up with all of these addons and simply breaks under the stress? Or could it simply be VRAM? I'm able to provide extra info as needed, just ask! EDIT: Issue solved! Seems 'HD Roads' by DKT70 was causing severe texture streaming issues. Edited October 17 by Personano

Solution Personano Posted October 17 Author Solution Share Posted October 17 Seems I was wrong about HD vehicles being the cause of my missing texture problem. After some forum searching and in-game testing, it looks like HD Roads by DKT70 was the real issue. I managed to come across a thread detailing my exact problem from a user with it installed so.. there we go. Glad it's fixed!
