Sometimes 3 or 4 pop ups at a time, and often times blocking the whole screen with no way to close them.. or at other times they block mostly everything and even scroll with you making it so that you can’t even cycle thru thread pages. FWIW, I’m not on board with the idea of paying for ad free forums, but I do think this issue should be raised. At first I thought it was because I was logged out and maybe guests get bombarded with ads but no, when logged in it’s just as bad. Spider-Vice Posted October 4 Share Posted October 4 (edited) How old are these screenshots?** I assume they span a few days to half a week, as all the tall height (and thus glitched out) ads have been disabled a few days ago when I also noticed them and passed on the message to get those off. I do believe corner videos have been disabled for the time being on Saturday as well due to a glitch with them looping and not properly showing the close button. As for the interstitial ads (between pages), we actually have had those for quite a long time and every ad package down to Google's stock AdSense now have them (the grey top bar, that's Google's stock stuff), they exist in a ton of websites and not sure there's much we can do about that, regardless of who is providing ads to us. In my testing I can only get those to appear once after a few clicks when I first visit the forums, then, after the first time I can browse around and click around freely without being interrupted by them for much longer - mobile and desktop. I hate ads too and know some might be annoying, and we're actively monitoring anything too egregious (and have taken measures since some of your screenshots' dates), but this place does need money to stay up. An ad-free subscription personally has a lot of ramifications (especially when we have to ban members) we'd have to deal with but it's something we've looked at in the drawing board. **Edit: I see the September 30 images so yeah, please read the first paragraph re: current situation. I understand the need of why they exist in order to financially support the site.. but for a few days they were definitely egregious. Fwiw, the oldest screen shot was 9/30.. the rest of those were the same day or a couple days later. I have noticed that it is far better now. I don't see ads anyways because I've been using a great adblocker for years now but I would still pay to support this site. The free time dedicated to all of us here by the admins/mods deserves a little something in return imho. Just don't make it really expensive.
