Pretty much impossible to play on modern consoles because they are not available on modern consoles. Let's put the art style, countless bugs, downgrades and sh*t aside for now. The soundtracks alone is a concern. While R* clearly took a similar route to GTA 3 when it came to LCS's Radio Stations (it being a budget title and all that), it didn't stop them from completely annihilating Radio Del Mundo with the 2015 mobile port (Just like what happened with Vladivostok FM). If they couldn't be bothered with renewing the license for some ancient as hell South Asian and Arabian folk songs then how will they deal with VCS's enormously expensive soundtrack? I know that licensing is a complex issue but VCS with 10-20 cut songs would be a disaster alone. No wonder why they didn't bother with remastering VCS at all. Also LCS is one of the richest games imo for special vehicle hunters and with an official definitive edition I'd just expect them to somehow spoil that and make helicopters semi unobtainable. Eh, I actually liked it in an ironic sense of way. LCS soundtrack was mostly lame tbh aside from Liberty Jam, MSX and maybe some of Flashback FM (still better than GTA 3). My point stays the same tho, VCS soundtrack is probably my favourite out of the GTA Series so losing even 2 or 3 songs would suck. Krooked_ Posted October 4 Share Posted October 4 All they need is a port for PS4 and PS5 with a resolution upgrade so they can be ran at 1080p, 1440p or 4K. On PC all of this is easily solved with emulation, the game can even be ran at up to 8K on PCSX2 if your system can handle it. The 3D era games are kind of hard to remaster because they have a very distinct visual style and I don't trust that Rockstar, or whoever does all the work, will do a particularly good job. I had the originals in their PS2 versions and I think they were incredible. More so with the context and city changes as prequels. It made me feel 3D Liberty City and Vice City were more like a universe with its time changes and characters history. Sure its modernization would made them be different to the originals in terms of vibe and so, but I'd go for a definitive edition approach. 1.05 patch fixed lots of things and made it quite enjoyable gameplay-wise. Not spectacular neither the best treatment for such iconic titles, but I guess It would be reasonable as a side project for what they might have in their hands with VI or other IP. cant remember Posted October 13 Share Posted October 13 I recently found out you can play the PSP versions on your computer or phone with an emulator so now I have two new GTA's to hold myself off until some GTA6 news shows up, I never got to play these as I have no consoles.
