Was Roman's Appartment really that bad?

Recommended Posts

It's probably the most cramped safehouse in the game.

It felt like home though. Hove beach in general had a homely vibe; that hotdog seller, Comrades Bar, 69th Street Diner, that vehicle always parked a bit down the street where your apartment is that I would always steal...

It's a shame we had to leave. I wish we had a safehouse in Broker/Dukes even after the end of the game.

Compared to how Roman described it his "mansion" was pretty bad. And where is Barbara with big titties and Stephanie who sucks like a vacuum?

In 2022 that apartment is probably 5K a month 😭

"I slept under my desk at that place for over a year...then I got the apartment, the apartment you thought was so sh*tty"

I Imagine it was quite a bit of an improvement from that desk.

I would mostly eat at the 69th Street diner as it is a few footsteps away from the safe house.

While I stayed there, I would walk over to the pier in the evening to watch the sunsets.

Also, I kept one of Roman's taxi cabs for personal use parked outside the apartment.  I would have it in a metallic red colour.

It’s the only apartment/safe house that feels like “home” IMO.

However I usually feel that way about most of the starting safe houses in GTA games.

Fun fact. One of my first deaths in GTA IV was getting chased by the cops into the Hove Beach apartment and they shot/killed Niko and he fell onto the bed lol.

Don't forget the Russian shop too. Shame it's the only real "homely" part of the map where everything is centrally located to your safehouse.

It's so gutting to lose it the first time you play when everything you need is nearby and it's the part of the map that you're familar with and just settled into that properly feels like your local neighbourhood. Being stuck in Bohan commuting everywhere I felt Niko's pain lol

The apartment itself wasn't bad at all. Roman just didn't clean up well, plus the furnishing was depressing as hell. If Niko had left the curtains open and moved some sh*t around, it would've been fine.

Rockstar named the texture data for Roman's Flat as "sh*tholesh*t.wtd"
The flat is referred to as a "sh*thole" in other directories too

A day of cleaning and some fresh paint on the walls would do wonders!

Like mentioned space wise it’s a pretty decent place for the location.

I loved that safehouse. That and playboy’s safehouse are the best.

i like romans apartment, idk why but i like small apartments irl. It feels safe to me, id hate a big home with multiple entrances. If he cleaned it up, itd be even better. It has a clothing shop, cheap food, amusement park and a freaking beach close by. Whats not to love?

Well, I'm not from NYC but where I live, the cheapest, sh*ttiest apartments are better than his. His doesn't even go for an "apartment" if you ask me. It's borderline a rundown squatting zone of rubble. Must be normal in New York, I guess.
