in the uk the prosecution rates of actual custodial sentences for white collar crimes along with him being a minor with mental health issues will really be interesting to see how it plays out in court with his case.

 

if Netflix ever did create a documentary in the future and managed to have him be a part of it, it would honestly be pretty incredible to watch depending on T2’s reaction to it.

 

i wouldn’t imagine T2 would be open to having an in depth view of how they was attacked viewed by millions of people though. uber was very transparent in the attack on them by teapot, T2 on the other hand are not.

There’s probably not that much more to discuss until some new news comes out.

 

Which could be quite a while, especially if as speculated by some, the hacker may already been in custody or lying low while quietly browning his pants.

 

This is GTA so it’s kind of fitting that there’d be an information drought even when it comes to the leaks.

He could probably turn rat and get off with a plea deal. Rumor is he actually didn't do social engineering. Sources say he bought the credentials off of a Tor site and then just downloaded the files from slacker. The seller of the credentials acquired them via malware that a Rockstar employee accidentally downloaded.

this is the most likely outcome, which is crazy due to the amount of damage he has caused.

 

he was not prosecuted for either his nvidia or microsoft attacks which both he was arrested for so seems to be pretty likely that he won’t face jail.

rockstar credentials were obtained through an MFA fatigue attack.

They said, do not open any mail from rockstar/take 2 support right now.

from what i know the login credentials were obtained through a social engineering attack which i am not too sure exactly what that was but they was unable to access the account.

 

they had been spamming the MFA push authentication for over an hour to the victim. they then posed as IT support via whatsapp and told him/her if they wanted the push auths to stop they would need to accept it which in turn led to them adding their device and gaining access to the MFA enrolment portal.

saw this yesterday. pretty likely to be linked to lapsus but still not confirmed.

 

they was sending out malware links via the 2K support email.

How were they able to spam the MFA? Just by attempting to login on a different device, refreshing, then re-attempting? Then they just pose as IT, say it's a bug, and tell the employee to accept the MFA? Am I getting this correct??

surprisingly, there was no limit on the amount of MFA requests allowed to be made. which is a huge mistake on their part.
 

in another case, they spammed close to 100 requests while the victim was asleep which caused him to eventually accept.

I have also not purchased any current gen consoles. I always go with xbox, and my last one was the Xbox One X, which I didn't even end up using much. I went PC more. Especially when Halo came to PC. That was my main reason for an Xbox. Not Infinite btw. That's hot garbage.

Someone messaged me saying the alleged hacker is threatening to upload more today over Telegram, I am worried about their security. Can someone confirm if this rumour is true or false because I don't want this person being tricked into giving any banking info in exchange for scams.

The guy on Telegram (whether he be the actual hacker or not) has been boasting for two days that he'll drop content and he hasn't. I wouldn't hold my breath on him having anything more substantial.

In my opinion, he's clearly a poser. The actual leaker would be a complete moron to go and do more leaking. This was a ransomware attack, that was the whole purpose of the leak. He didn't do it because he's a die-hard fan. This we already know, so the eggheads over at Twitter and Reddit thinking he's gonna leak more don't really understand what's actually happening.

 

He wanted ransom, didn't get it, got exposed, and now he's running for the hills. Now imposters are stealing his usernames and claiming to be him just to stir up drama and rile up the community for clout.
