Odd then, me and around 5 - 10 + people got kicked then without even typing anything in there all around the same time so I assumed it got nuked and deleted.

That is strange, I know the mods were coming down heavy with bans because it just became a toxic mess, not sure why you'd be immediately banned though.

Just for info, the group currently has 5050 members with 305 online.

The leaker is not banned but it is very convenient for gtaf staff to not share that the leaker is forced to have new content moderated by staff before publishing. That's why he's not logging in. Even if you disagree with the leaks, it makes sense from the leaker's point of view. Why would they bother with a platform that's not letting them post their content freely without restrictions?

its almost like if he posts more DMCA info, T2 can shut the site down.

people these days i f*cking swear.

I guess we got randomly caught in some sort of crossfire of when moderators and admins were clearing out users, sad because I can't join back to stay updated but it's all good.
Thanks for letting me know

By no means am I a regular on this forum. I'm definitely not someone that would purchase GTA VI anyways. But I've been following this since Sunday and I see a lot of rumors being generated. Rumors are what happen when we don't have facts.

The Facts

[September 17, 2022]

- The infamous leak post is created by teapotuberhacker

[September 18, 2022]

- The leak blows up garnering international attention. The hacker responds with this message.

- The leaker gives a name on Telegram and says he will be selling source code on there for Ethereum

- All GTA V natives were distributed via a git issue from an account called 100ksource on Github

- This is the last confirmed date that teapotuberhacker is seen online at GTAF

- T2 legal requests all posted material to be removed from the internet. GTAF is one such website (See the banner atop)

[September 19, 2022]

- R* responds to the events of the weekend with a tweet:

- T2 files Form 8-k, states: "[...] does not anticipate any disruption to its current services nor any long-term effect on its development timelines as a result of this incident."

- Uber releases a report saying that it is working with R* and the FBI on the cyber criminal investigation

Rumors & Details

> Lily Howarth

On september 18th after supposed-removal (hidden by moderators for T2 content scrubbing) of the original post, the leaker returned to GTAF to announce the creation a secondary telegram account after the first one disappeared. There is speculation by forum moderators as to the possession of the GTAF account at the time of that secondary post, leading to the belief that the new telegram account is not genuine.

Furthermore, the account has posted no new information, no new leaks, and no proof as to its linkage of the GTAF account. This could be due to the belief that GTAF is honey-potted and the FBI could use it to track him or that this telegram account is not the original leaker.

WARNING: The account may be used to scam people out of cryptocurrency.

> A.K.

The leaker is rumored to be a teenager from Britian with the initials AK. As this is not confirmed and may be damaging, no more details will be posted at this time.

 > The leaker is a part of Lapsus$

There is much speculation to the identity of the leaker/hacker.

> Someone paid the wrong account $100k for source code

The linked article proves this wrong. There is no proof that someone was scammed out of $100k related to this incident.

> The game will be canceled and heavily delayed

Anybody working in big industry, big tech, big finance knows that companies are all about money. They want their product released as soon as possible, generating as much revenue as possible. This means 7-9 years worth of development will not be thrown away because somebody opened their Christmas present early. Thus, the game will not be canceled.

Will the game be delayed? There is no information on this and no way of knowing unless you work for r*

> The hacker is still active

Unknown but assume false due to the other information posted here.

> GTA V source code is in the wild

This is very very likely for two reasons:
First, in the original post, the hacker was producing on-demand requests for code. Somebody asked for specified items to which he released 10,000 lines of code.
Second, the natives of GTAV were released in bulk with accuracy which would be accomplished with source code.

Important: THIS DOES NOT MEAN IT WILL LEAK TO THE PUBLIC ANYTIME SOON

> What does the stake holder release mean?

It could mean two things:

1. It is being used to calm stakeholders to prevent the stock price from crashing. This is supported by the following:

"Without limiting the foregoing, words or phrases such as "expect," "anticipate," "goal," "project," "intend," "plan," "believe," "seek," "may," "could," "aspire," and variations of such words and similar expressions generally identify forward-looking statements."
source: https://www.take2games.com/ir/cautionary-note

2. Truthful: The hacker was caught and the leak was contained.

> The hacker is on Twitter / Instagram / Facebook

The hacker only posted proof on GTAF and linked to an initial telegram account. Any other accounts are not genuine and should be seen as scammers.

> The natives mean the source code is released

A good rundown on what natives are:
https://gtaforums.com/topic/717612-v-scriptnative-documentation-and-research/

With this information, it is safe to assume that someone has insider info to compile all of this information to post it on GitHub.

> The leaker says he has RAGE source code and a 106 page document on the GTA VI story

In telegram, an account rumored to be linked to the leaker says they would release the full GTA VI story and the day after, the RAGE source code. There has been no proof of this and these leaks have not come true thus far.

Next Steps

- At this time, there is no proof to assume the leaker is still active or intends to leak anything.

- With the last confirmed sighting of the leaker being early in the week, it is a likely guess they are either in custody or in hiding.

- If you have any confirmed information that contradicts or adds to the information gathered here, please @ me so this can be changed accordingly.

Wow, this is an incredible rundown, thank you! Lots of proper facts and potential explanations there.

i'm surprised people don't want to buy the game lol

for me these leaks changed my opinion from "eh i'm on the fence about it, they've kept really quiet and don't seem to have the confidence to show anything at all, it's probably gonna turn out like the trilogy disaster" to "holy sh*t ok i'm getting collector's edition/boxes/whatever no matter what :r*:"

i don't remember when was the last time i was so excited for a modern game release

all these leaks got me even more excited, i really want to play VI.

also i really love that diner robbery, that sh*t looked cool. i wonder what other types of robbery’s we can do in the open world

like i was excited for it anyway, but these leaks got me even more excited. waiting for VI is gonna be tough

the only other game which i‘m also heavily excited for is spidey 2. these two games are the ones i‘m looking forward to the most

it makes me wish game companies still cared to do game/tech demos. would be cool as f*ck to get hands-on experience of what to expect (or if stuff gets cut, the potential at least) in the finished product

seeing the fanboat being tested in one of the clips got me especially excited for the prospect of a proper swampland area after the meme that was the zancudo river, as well as the potential of boat travel being more relevant in general. and going by the other clips, it really feels like they had a look at the weak parts of v's map design and decided to improve on that for vi's map design. i'm extremely impressed by what i saw and can't wait to see how much better it looks when it's finished

I'd like to get some insight into your thought process here... None of the R* developed releases were ever a disappointment to me (not necessarily looking at Table Tennis for Wii, that was... weird...) and outsourcing the Remaster was a d1ckmove, but why would it change how R* tackles making magic themself?!?

He arrived at school at 9:30 PM  EST which is 5:30 AM in Dubai. I think it's more likely he's Indian since it would be 7 AM in India at that point.

Plus we know Rockstar India is working on GTA 6 and recently absorbed employees from an old failing game studio. That sounds like a phisher's dream, especially a phisher that's fluent in Hindi 🧐

i have been told by some credible sources that arion was apprehended on monday and has not been heard from since.

the telegram is currently in possession by a lapsus$ member(s) located in brazil. the person at the time of finding this info was located in brazil, however, it’s not certain how many people have access to the account.

they do also have the gta 5 source code in full.

that’s all i know for certain but this is all very likely true.

I'm not sure if Take-Two will try to sue Netflix too for the inevitable documentary we're going to have about all this TeapotGate mess.

It's 'reality is stranger than fiction' gold we have here!
