They're both entered based on RAGE units and coordinates. We don't know why the GTA VI map is so far left. Could be because there's something south east. Or something else.

i wonder how the rdr 2 map would be positioned based on these parameters

The light green is a small island (behind the tower) - so far not accurate on the maps.
And the dark green line is the coast line going behind the island. The island blocks out the coast and how far it travels off into the distance.

What's more interesting I feel is that above the dark green line we have a cloud base that looks like it goes right down to the floor. To me that looks like it is  intentionally hiding something.

Maybe the bridge would be visible in the distance in that shot. not really sure of the angle though.
But this shot defo looks like it is hiding both whats in the red box and above the dark green line with cloud.

Using the Image @Jimmarn enhanced we can also now clearly see the following:

Light Green - another broken bridge (possible jump location) - already on the map

Dark Green - This looks like IRL Key Biscayne and the Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park

Red - That is defo the IRL Virginia Keys Central District Wastewater Treatment Plant - which also has mountain bike trails which would be fun if in game.

I know most of these things have already been discussed etc...

But i thought this image gives a real good look at the layout of these keys in relationship with everything else already on the map.

Dark Green is actually Fisher Island.

Key Biscayne is to the left of, and partially in front of, the red box.

Behind the red box, you can also see Port Vice City.

I’ve been wondering whether the northern part of the GTA VI map is actually just open water. Maybe this time Rockstar is breaking away from the classic “island” design and giving us a peninsula, similar to how it worked in Red Dead Redemption 2. It would make sense given the technical progress they've made.

We’ve already seen hints pointing toward Gloriana (Georgia) – especially on license plates – and that raises a key question: why do we have plates from another state when GTA V, for example, only had San Andreas plates? Maybe this means the world isn’t an isolated island anymore, but rather part of a larger connected landmass.

That said, how would Rockstar prevent players from flying off the map? Here are some realistic solutions that could work even when flying:

1. Restricted Airspace (No-Fly Zone)

Think military zones – if you fly too far north, you get radio warnings and possibly missiles coming your way. Just like Area 69 back in the day.

2. Dynamic Weather Barrier

Storms, turbulence, lightning or dense fog that increases the deeper you go – making it dangerous or impossible to fly past a certain point.

3. Natural Obstacles

Massive mountain ranges or endless swamps could serve as invisible walls that still feel immersive both from the ground and air.

4. Air Traffic Control Warnings

Radio chatter from ATC could alert you: “You’re leaving controlled airspace,” building tension before forcing a turn-back or auto-failure.

5. Soft Gameplay Boundaries

Planes might start losing altitude or automatically turn around past the map border. It’s subtle but effective and avoids immersion-breaking walls.

I think these are all believable ways to contain the map without making it feel too artificial – especially for flying.

It also fits with the rumors that GTA VI Online will feature map expansions in the future. Designing the world as a peninsula or part of a larger continent gives Rockstar more freedom to add new regions without breaking immersion.

Hey everyone,
Happy (early) GTA 6 Anniversary!

Over the past year, I've been working on my Vice City map project. The version I'm sharing today is actually the second iteration since I forgot to post the first one here, lol.

This map is the result of a combination of triangulation work by @lxr and, mainly, my own 3D mapping efforts, which I originally shared here and on Reddit last year. Thanks to the 3D approach, the map offers a much more precise and visually clear representation of building placements throughout the city. I believe this might be the most accurate Vice City map available right now.

HAHA sorry about that.

I get the same with my Dyslexia - I can write a word completely wrong yet I look at it over and over again and it correct - because I only see the shape of words - not the letters in it so I have no clue even if people point out its wrong.

I will number everything in future.

I was watching Saukko505 latest Youtube video regarding Port Gellhorn and the fact so many buildings in that area are from Panama City.

I was always thinking that Port Gellhorn was more based on an area much further south on the the west coast like Tampa.
But if it is based on Panama (so far North west) - could the Large Bridge we see in that area actually go to "Saint Denis" irl New Orleans.
It would be an amazing way to bring the two games together.
We already have alligators and swamps.
New Orleans is perfect for it as its not a massive city - beautiful buildings, nothing to tall so easy to hide in screen shots. Access is by bridge if heading east to west.
It also has a massive inland lake - so this could easily be the a city with water all around it that is basically the end of the map top left

I have some thoughts on the Jason Schreier article about future maps being included after launch.

First of all,it's an old article, released back in 2021?Post launch plans like that can change very quickly, just like at some point GTA 5 was going to have single player DLCs.Those maps may never come.

Second,if there was another region added post release it could be an island like Cuba not connected to mainland, that would be less "immersive breaking" than a chunk of land just appearing on the main map after an update.

Third,if those happen i bet it's online only while story mode never gets those maps.

lmao, sure, the guy who broke literally every *Big and Real* news related to GTA 6 and has a 100% average when it comes to that game is not to be believed.

it is but i commented here before that it's neat how close the locations are."Saint Denis" or New Orleans is really close to Florida or "Leonida"

The best part of this map we're about to receive is it's completely untouched, no one knows anything about the little small quirks they put into the game, no one knows what's up North of what we already anticipate. This game is going to be so badass. I'm glad I get to share the moment with a group of people such as everyone here.

You’re right. Back in 2020, if we had looked at Take-Two’s financial projections at the time, I’d guess they likely intended to release GTA VI by 2023 or 2024. Just think: a decade ago, no one could’ve predicted that even ten years later, GTA VI would still be unreleased. Back then, my own "worst-case scenario" estimate for its launch would’ve been 2020 or 2021 — and maybe even Rockstar privately shared that optimism in 2014. But as we’ve seen, "plans are just hypotheses until reality tests them". If what Jason now calls a "mid-sized project" refers to the current scale of GTA VI, then the term "large-scale game" might as well be extinct. At this point, Rockstar has almost certainly overhauled their entire release strategy years ago.

If we take Take Two's(lol) word as truth that development started in 2019/2020 then Jason was leaking info based on pre production ideas. They intended on making a "mid sized release", that might have changed.Jason did mention that what Rockstar thinks is "mid size" might be huge by industry's standards.

The idea of the extra maps being thought of that early is exciting if it really happens, means they had a long time to think about how to implement it.

Yes, indeed Rockstar looks at its own projects and treats them as a medium-sized project, when in fact, it is always something never seen before and I wish other companies would think like this and underestimate their own games, leading them to always want more (never settle)

Right. I believe it’s no longer in a separate universe.

They seem to be linking to universes though, there are many links being seen with recent online updates and the money

and it would much sense to link them, a linked universe would open up so many doors
