Suggestion: Create a scatter plot graph in Google Sheets with X,Y coordinates stored in two different columns and use original clip names such as "Americas 2021-03-03 10-55-27.mp4" and a timestamp in a separate column so others can identify and find the locations in the leaked material.

But posting screenshots from Google Street View without supporting any of the content from those videos is possible, isn't it? With a textual description of where it was but without any visualization of it

(I posted this in the Mapmaking thread already but noticed this may be a more appropriate place for it. I hope this falls within the limits of what we are allowed to discuss. No links or screenshots are included.)

 

I used the coordinates to plot the location and direction that the in-game camera is facing during each leaked video.

Hopefully this helps anyone else who is working away trying to piece together the map.

Someone posted that in the original mapping thread, which imo didnt breach the rules. Someone here must know who made it. I'm not sure how big GTA V's map is in Rage's 'Cubic Units' so I can't answer that question for you.

This one? (not my map, i saved it to post this somewhere else, but someone else made that map).

 

Also doesn't breach rules (no minimaps or screenshots), except for the V overlay (but we all know the map of V of course).

And all what was found is basically Vice City + suburbs so the city is gonna feel very realistic, detailed and the scale will be impressive probably. It will be the most large and realistic city ever in a game I believe, because of the unprecedented scale (other cities in games usually get condensed way more).

We have this, but I think we're entering a grey zone with a grid view of coordinates that refers to file names everyone has to look up individually. Even if the file names are allowed, it makes it unnecessarily complicated for collaboration and virtually exclusive for people to follow who happened to not see or save any of it.

 

From what I could see in the alignment, we have a map roughly shaped like real Florida with, perhaps, parts of Georgia. It seems plausible that we're operating in fewer states, but within a quite extensive scope per state, rather than multiple states that we happened to not see yet. I imagine we might have missions or chapters in completely different states, as there were interstate hints in some files. Think North Yankton or Guarma. But then again, it's just speculative.

If it took 5 years to make one city (GTA V), then surely you would be able to make two cities in 10+ years, right? RIGHT? Even if the VC was twice as large as the LS in GTA V, for the sake of variety and "longetivity" there should be another city, because that's the last GTA for another 10+ years and you WILL get bored driving past the same palm trees and beaches and experiencing the same "vibe" all the time. I'm still not bored playing GTA:SA and I think lot of that has to do with the diverse geography of the three cities and rural areas.

That's the only disappointment i had so far, but I think there were no signs of a second city even in Southern Florida. Some suggested because of some hills that were not common in Florida that there might be an area based on Georgia. But I don't believe this. I think they'll have made some "outskirts" of Vice State/City maybe a bit hillier to create some contrast (artificial freedom). And these were all speculations, not based on what was actually found.

 

Keys are likely in to some extent as one screenshot was close to a landmark in the ocean near the Keys and there is lots of room for the Everglades too on the map, even if i found no direct evidence pointing towards it, but it makes some sense if it would be in the WSW part of the map (where no coordinates currently are).

Port Gellhorn has been mentioned. One time it was referred to as just Gellhorn.

This is a list I made with all the possible buildings we might see on the map.

The Church seems to be a mix of the greek one (blue dome) and the San Juan Bosco (Bell tower), but in another place.

Think about how many towns RDR2 had. I think it's safe to say we'll get a couple more Paleto bay's this time around. But I'm not expecting a second city.

 

But, it's too early to tell.

Florida is indeed flat but perhaps they scaled up "Lake Wales Ridge", as some kind of natural border of the map.

If there is a second city, i believe only possibilities would be Tampa and Orlando. Perhaps Fort Myers too (if that is classified as a city). Of course "a city" can also be a city while being a suburb of V.C. too.

With current tech I see no reason why R won’t add Fort Lauderdale. Its only 40 minutes away from real life Miami.
