GTA VI Mapping Thread (NO LEAKED CONTENT ALLOWED)

Sad to hear about the removal of the previous mapping thread, but it’s obviously understandable due to potential legal risks. 

Has anyone found more info on the racetrack that appeared in the satellite-like overview of the rural area in one of the videos?

I have a lot of faith in this map, so long as it hasn't been scrapped or anything like that. Vice City, from the airport and a lot of the architecture, looks very expansive. Moreover, the Keys are in the game which was huge for me personally, as it will add its own unique flavor and style to the map. Port Gellhorn, or perhaps just Gellhorn, does seem as though it will be a legitimate second city. Maybe not airport big, but big enough to be a nice addition. Besides, I am sure there will be lots of smaller towns scattered about the map. As well as this, we also likely have the everglades or some form of swamp/marsh land due to the air boat. All in all, this map looks pretty big and distinct from every other GTA map we have had. We haven't even seen anywhere close to the full map. I am sure there could be some other islands separate form the main way. Hell, wasn't there also some talk of border security personnel, maybe implying a reachable foreign territory? I'm looking forward to learning more.

Not to my knowledge. Still speculating that is the Gellhorn one. But if I recall correctly it had a strange curve. Now as far as I know every single NASCAR track is an oval so that strange curve makes no sense. But it's interesting, I think this is the first time we are getting an open air race track.

Going back to Vice City was such a safe and disappointing decision. I've resigned to the fact we're never going to get a non American main line GTA game because it wouldn't appeal to Americans.

 

With that said New Orleans would have been much more interesting location.

So we should be good as long as it’s not using copyrighted screenshots. Just draw it ! Awesome ! 
 

can’t we print the screenshots and place a piece of paper over it and draw the outline of the minimap?

Not all NASCAR tracks are oval. In fact, Daytona has three bends. Also, many racetracks have multiply racetracks within its main, large circuit for variations. However, I didn’t see any complete NASCAR track in the map either.

Yes, "Crosstown" is mentioned in the clip with the red pickup on the highway, shortly before it has an accident entering "Stockyard".

So I figured we could try to estimate the size of GTA 6's map by using the coordinates we know. I have searched the videos and the 'furthest' coordinate I found was "-7191". But I have seen also positive values. Allow me to assume a bit and make my guess. If there is a -7191 I assume there will be also a +7191. The world won't be a perfect rectangle of course, but the coordinates will propably work on a rectangle grid.

 

So as far as I can find and assume we could see a map of 14.382 x 14.382 units if we assume that the 0x0 coordinate will be the center of the map. I took a good look at the coordinates when the character was moving and it seems that 1 unit in coordinates estimates about 1 meter. IF the 0.0 coordinate would be in the middle of the map this could mean that the total surface could be around 206,8 square kilometers or 79.9 square miles. From what I find online GTA V has a size of around 80 square miles or 31 square kilometers. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

 

But this would mean that GTA 6 MAY BE about 2,5 times as big as GTA V.

Could we maybe see Cape Canaveral in the game? As the new 'Fort Zancudo'? It is quite far from Miami IRL unfortunately, they would have to bend reality a bit & it would have to be on the outer extremities of the map, but would still be so cool to see it in the game, complete with rocket launches, etc.

There is a massive list of in-game events, and one of them is labeled SERA space launch. All but confirms we'll see a cape canaveral.

From the old mapping thread it looks like the just the city might be the size of the entire GTAV map.

I hope you're right. I haven't been following this so I don't know myself but if the city alone is the size of the GTA V map then I'll be very impressed. I'd hope there'd still be some countryside though as I loved pissing about in the country in GTA V and I wish there was some countryside in GTA IV too. Having both in great expanse would be ace.

Well we have an airboat and that really doesn't make sense to use one in the city. So I am very confident about a countryside.

There's a location mentioned called Ambrosia Tarmac. Maybe that's Daytona Speedway and Ambrosia is Daytona?
