GTA VI Map Discussion - NO LEAKED CONTENT ALLOWED

Welcome to the Mapping Vice City thread !

 

More than a decade after, it's time to get this show back on the road once.

We're analysing every inch of GTA VI media to identify buildings, landmarks and locales of Miami and Florida recreated in GTA VI's Vice City.

Just like in Los Santos/Blaine County, most buildings in Vice City have a real life counterpart somewhere.

By carefully looking at every screenshot, trailer or video available, our goal is too get a better understanding of the geography of Vice City and its surrounding areas, and ultimately, trying to recreate the GTA VI map.

 

Don't be shy, anyone can help and contribute to this thread.

Some tips/useful info :

 

• Be civil ! Insults, hate speech, abuse, brigading, witch hunt, etc are unacceptable.
• Stay on topic, do not derail the thread by sending irrelevant messages, memes or sh*tposting.
• Scouting by Rockstar Games likely took place in Miami and Florida in 2015. 
• Use that 3D tool in Google Maps/Earth ! 
• When looking through an area in StreetView, make sure to set the time to 2015 or as close as possible.
• Same goes when looking at satellite imagery in Google Earth.
• Always share your findings with the team so we're not looking for stuff that's been found before. Don't be shy!

It's the Iglesia San Juan Bosco, 1349 W Flagler St, Miami. 

It's close to LoanDepot Stadium

Is it possible to find any method of bypassing violations? For example, discuss addresses without publishing screenshots from those cursed videos (As you just did). Or maybe we really need a certain closed environment for the most active search participants for the time, until the game has been released yet. For example a server in a discord or, possibly, a chat in telegram

Hey!

 

Jumping into the trend, after recent GTA VI leaks. What do you imagine map looking like? If it will be large or even smaller than the map of GTA V, and how it will impact "older" PCs? Lowkey I want the map to resemble the GTA San Andreas map structure, where the "countries" would be somewhat closer to the main "land" where we start but also would be obscured by fog to give you the feeling of a "never ending map". How do you see it?

The mapping thread used the coordinates and it's looking quite a lot bigger than GTAV.

I think based on the fact one of the police vehicles said a different location on it no VCPD, it’s safe to assume it will at least be as big as V.

 

It wouldn’t make sense to have multiple locations if the map was small.

It simply cant be smaller.

 

For a new VC it must feel different to 2002's VC and include the Keys and the Everglades etc.

 

For GTAVI 10 years after V it must have more than a one city state and must have more enterable interiors. They've been banging on about a living, breathing world with every iteration. Now is the time to deliver.

I'm 100% sure it'll be bigger. I mean we have Miami in the Metro, the Keys, hopefully the everglades, and probably a lot of backwoods with pines. It would get pretty old to only have a city again with the keys and nothing else with a total area the size of LS or LC.

I know that GTA VI make Rockstar a LOT of money no matter what.

 

However, to the real GTA fan, to not have more than one city, almost 20 years after SA (gulp) would certainly make, and others, feel Rockstar has lost its touch and I can't see it improving if that is the case.

I honestly do not think it'll be far fetched for us to be able to travel to SA or LC. Via plane at least. Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

My expectations are very low. Post-SA manu of us (not me, btw) expected multiple states. Then we got IV. New generation, one city, fair enough. V was the hope, countryside again, a state, only to find out they removed the great interiors introduced in IV.

 

I've said for years if we have a state with two cities, countryside, towns and more interiors then I'll be satisfied and I think most fans would see it as an improvement. 

 

However, I'm expecting a Vice City with small towns, like V and promises of DLC map expansions which may never happen or be online exclusive. I'm keeping my expectations low and just hopeful of better mechanics and story.

 

Regarding LS and LC, for me they've been done to death. We need new locations. That's my view though.

Found a couple buildings from the metro mover video. On the frame with the domed church, behind it you can find the Miami Dade County bldg and 400 N Miami Avenue which is a courthouse.

Its allready a given as in the leak we have seen those areas allready. What we havent really seen are the other 2 cities/towns that are supposed to be in the game but given the fact the stuff is 2-3 years old, its no issue.

You get on a plane, loading screen, you arrive in modern UHD versions of Los Santos/Liberty City. It's the same fictional universe and the city's already been built. All they have to do is update their car models, finally finish that skyscraper in LS, and put a Freedom Tower equivalent in LC.

I understand and I also understand the wish to see an updated LC particularly. However I'd see it as a bit of a cop out. New locations must come first imo.

Hopefully motorways connecting them (and acting as a loading screen) rather than an actual loading screen

That would require landmass connecting VC to LS and LC, and all three are islands. I know we're supposed to "imagine" the rest of the USA is there, but they aren't going to simulate all of North America just for a loading screen

OK. Then you need to define the rules and powers of the participants so as not to harm the forum, but also so as not to communicate in encrypted messages that are incomprehensible to the new layman.

I believe that sending links from Google Maps is legal, since no company can forbid a person to publish a link to the geolocation of a place that, by chance, turned out to be in their unreleased game, but existed long before it was planned.

Also, any sketches or screenshots from Google maps is also a completely legal thing if you do not use screenshots from those videos that caused these problems. Never before has amateur and fan communication about locations from the game been so suppressed and forbidden as it is now, at the moment.

When compiling a map with points in Google Maps, I have the right to put points anywhere and call them whatever I want. I do not think that GTAForums can suffer if a link to such a map gets into the forum topic

I put this together. This should be safe, no imagery or mini-map images, just co-ordinate estimates.

I used the coordinates to plot the location and direction that the in-game camera is facing during each leaked video.

Hopefully this helps anyone else who is working away trying to piece together the map.

No point in keeping this discussion going like this, you need the content to actually map the city.

 

Might keep the thread alive as a buffer until we get the first trailer.

 

Side note, its disheartening to see this kind of censorship here in times like these, but I understand why it's happening.
