That's why I want to make it a total sh*tbox. Dude clearly is going to start the game flat broke. No way he could afford a mint condition 1970 Ranchero GT.

Meh hes a redneck, i assume its some sort of project car. I imagine in the beginning its going to be a rusted sh** box and over time it gets restored. I also think its going to be a unique spawn like GTA 5 characters personal vehicles

I was looking at the Karin Rebel from the clips and from V side by side and seems it's way more polished and detailed then it is now being more rounded with some edges from before. Excited to see how all the current vehicles will look polished.

Judging from what we could see in those videos - there wasn't much of it, but still - driving mechanics doesn't seem far too different from V's driving mechanics. Which is easily the most boring arcade driving experience along with the one from IV. Utter trash.

Can we not do the 500 picture posts? This isn't a vision board.

Someone pointed out that those functions could just be for cutscenes. I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Possible. Still the function is there. Could be added later on for GTA Online 2 via inetraction menu.

As for returning vehicles, I really hope we'll see the Willard MarbelleWillard SolairDinka Blista KanjoDinka HakumaiDinka RT3000Albany Esperanto (GTA IV)Obey RocotoObey Tailgater, and the Vapid Dominator ASP again.

One thing i've been noticing lately is how R* car designs have changed significantly between GTA 4/EFLC, GTA V/Online's 2013 release and current GTA Online (and upcoming GTA 6).

With the former two usually having a slightly more cartoonish/"mash up between multiple cars" look that we are already used to at this point. Meanwhile, the cars in the last few GTAO updates usually looked a heck a lot closer to the real thing they been parodying.

Example of a car that was available in GTA V from the get go:

Cheval Fugitive

spacer.png

It's IRL equivalent, Chevy Caprice/Holden Statesman

spacer.png

=====

Example of a supercar that was added in the latest GTAO update:

Pegassi Torero XO

spacer.png

IRL equivalent, Lamborghini Countach

spacer.png

Not the best example but you get the point. Cars like the Banshee, Comet, Rebla (IV), Gauntlet and PMP600 (IV) would just outright clash with the newer cars that we seen lately in both GTA online and GTA 6, design wise. I wonder what are they going to do about it?

Otherwise, i just wish if there are going to add more boring everyday cars, kinda like in GTA 4.

I feel like they should make cars older then 2020 mashups while 2020s modern cars should be more realistic to the source.

You just named my #1 wished car to be added. I once made these Cougar/Hellenbach/Mustang "morphs" to GTA:O wishlist:

Anyone wanna see some cars slightly out of place? Like a Pagani Zonda/Utopia, Duesenberg, older Land Rover and Rolls-Royce/Bentley? Movie and real life Miami inspired cars are cool but in online or story mode endgame it’s nice to be able to take things up a notch.

Glad to see some random everyday cars in the videos, yeah it makes the game feel more realistic. Also I think a lot of older cars are gonna be replaced with newer variants or similar models. Like how they made a ranchero when there’s already an El Camino.

Yet GTA V still has the best driving in any open world game, i would even say that it has better handling than some racing games like need for speed or the crew 2.

I agree with this, but not only do we have to worry about design choices but also the models themselves. Newer GTA Online vehicles are also much more detailed and much higher poly, they look strange next to the same GTA 4 car models like the futo, sultan, ingot, etc. where you can really see the low poly edges and clearly lacks detail when you compare a model from 2020 to 2008

I just hope that all the old models get updated interiors, headlights and grilles. That would go a very long way

I agree, GTA IV and GTA V had some amazing cars but most are outdated design wise. What is likely going to happen is what is going on with GTA Online currently. Where previous models are replaced with their newer models (which follow the new design formula)

Rebla - Rebla GTS
Comet - Comet S2
Gauntlet - Gauntlet Hellfire
9F - 10F
Buffalo - Buffalo STX

Tailgater - Tailgater S

Most likely leaving the rest behind.

Too bad modern sports cars look like sh*te :sarcasm:

Though does it really matter, as online is probably going to be to focus of the game and as we all know, if there is a good looking car, people will modify it to look like sh*te.

Hopefully they drop the new style, those near exact copies look really, really cheap. Where did Rockstar lose their originality in vehicle design?

0:04 far right end of the screen, left lane. There's a beige car with a very tall roofline, no discernible details.

First thing that came to mind was the Sentinel Classic but this is true speculation as the LOD seen on the video is truly low quality.

What would your rather see on every corner as opposed to boring ass cars?

The average car on the road in the US is over 10 years old. In Florida where road salt doesn't eat cars away, that average age is probably a lot higher.

What, you expect everyone in Miami to own a Ferrari?

I have to say, what they did to the Toros interior was wild. I'd love to see that for every car. I know some interiors will still be shared or older, but that was super impressive to me. I can only imagine what they did with the Enus interiors.

As funny as it sounds, it reminds me of GTA IV. GTA IV didn't have FPV and the interiors are pixelated, but all of the high-end cars had detailed and unique interiors, as they should. If we're going back to that, but with working features this time... then my mind will be blown.

To be honest, IV has had the most detailed cars so far - many of them more detailed than in V funnily, as long as you don't count the interior polygons in the facelifted version of course. I guess for V they thought people didn't look that closely. Hoping for the IV approach again.

Love it. Intruder that we've had since IV is not far off.

Details I notice was a fuel door, roll bar doesn't clip into the bed, side steps look more detailed then just big chrome slats, and it seems to have a tow bar in the back.

Also I agree with your first statement but some vanilla cars in V had that detail. Yoga, Asterope, Sadler, Bison just to name a few.

Sentinel classic is a great example of Rockstar not even knowing their own old games anymore.... how can you call a 2 door sentinel, classic?!?!?:facedesk:

The thing about GTA car designs was depending on the model you could see a through line where some cars were just blatant clones vs the ones that were mix and match type of jobs. In GTA IV there was more variety but apart from Graphic Limitations cars in the older games are pretty dead on replicas of the real world versions.

Look at the Sabre Turbo from Vice City. It's pretty much a dead on replica of an Olds Cutlass. Even more so in the beta:
(In the finale they removed the split from the grille and only had a single taillight instead of the twins)

sFAh6Gn.jpeg

So I'm not too worried about old and new designs being in the same game. They might clash a bit but that's GTA for ya. No one cares about the absolute monstrosity that is the Hydra being a mix of a 1960s fighter jet and a modern 2010s jet, so I doubt it will be an issue. 😛

Speaking of 1970s Muscle cars, my choice for a car I would like to see, 1973 Dodge Charger (aka the car from Burn Notice):

Exactly. Honestly it's a deja vu of comparing Vice city car models to San Andreas.

spacer.png

Take a look at this picture. In GTA IV, the car's glass and headlight covers are ever so slightly opaque, while in V both are invisible. The paint jobs in IV are more believable, with more toned down colors and more 'gritty' look. On the other hand, in V the paint jobs colors are very aggressive, and the cars are suuuuper shiny and glossy.

What is weird that both these affects also appear when you compare Vice city and San Andreas.:harrumph:

True that. I was shocked to see how weak and pathetic couple of last NFS games actually are. It took me literally few seconds to figure out that driving mechanics is borderline unexisting there.

Nah, GTA SA is still the most complete, arcade driving experience. It has almost everything, except hard top Comet, lol. V cannot touch.

Also in the waffle diner robbery video, just as they turn the cop car around, there's a Chrysler Sebring lookalike in the parking lot opposite the diner, on the right side of the two vans (Rumpo Custom?)
