As much as I don't like them in real life, electric vehicles should make an appearence. Like a GTA version of a Tesla Cybertruck and to add to the realism, you have to charge it. And maybe even have autonomous features. And you can load an electric ATV on the back when you decide to hit small trails in the country.

I fully expect a large number of GTAV cars to make a return to GTAVI. Some probably won't make the cut, but of course they'll add new ones too.

 

One thing to keep in mind: Some (or most) of the cars shown could be placeholders. The footage we saw is from an UNFINISHED GAME. And developers use placeholder assets all the time to make sure various systems are working. So there's a good chance that some (or even all) the vehicles seen so far won't make it to the final game. I remember when GTAIII came out, the LCPD cruisers were blue and white in promo footage just a couple months before release, and when the game launched they were black and white instead.

I wouldn't be shocked at all to see a fair portion of the later GTAV DLC cars make it as regular traffic in GTA VI.

I want this so bad! I never liked Franklin's Buffalo or Michael's Tailgater. I also really wish you could change the vehicles in missions. The first Franklin and Lamar mission would have so much more replayability if it wasn't always the same choice between a 9F and Rapid GT, neither of which I really like.

I'm not sure why RCR claims the Skylark was trying to be like the imports, what import looked anything like that? Say what you will about the styling, but it's certainly unique.

Based on the video of the Ranchero failing to jump off a ramp, the damage is not improved at all. I really hope that was just because it's early footage...

They actually spent a ton of money on the Quad 4 in that Skylark. Because of how much they spent on it already, they couldn't get the accountants to sign off on balance shafts, so it was never as smooth as the imports. Ultimately, the playing field wasn't fair at that time because the japanese economy was really strong and the currency exchange rate favored Japan significantly. They could just dump money into stuff like 4 wheel steering on the 3000GT and the Americans just couldn't afford to do the same and still turn a profit. By the late '90s, you see Japan start cost cutting significantly, and that's why they lost so much of the character that people loved them for (and why most of their fun sporty cars died off around then).

 

Although most people think the opposite, GM and Ford actually put a lot of effort into some of their cars around that time. From the W-body Grand Prix to the MN-12 Thunderbird and the Toronado which had the world's first touchscreen in a car in 1989:

Hopefully there's going to be an authentic selection of "beater" cars with random amount of damage, not just one model with always the same level of rust and damage like in GTA V. Bunch of rusty Tornados driving around in traffic that all have the identical patina is not a good look. People always talk about how there should be more cars with damage and custom parts in GTA traffic, but I don't think that's really authentic what becomes to traffic in general, modern traffic is bland and boring, however the pre 90's cars that (should) spawn more rarely, it should be the opposite; mostly custom and damaged, only few in original condition.

 

In GTA 4 the classic cars spawned too often in traffic too, but at least there was more than one beater variant for some models. Probably my favorite car out of all was the beater Vigero with a missing fender, misfiring and black smoke was the icing on the cake

Yea they put a lot of thought into their cars but redundancy within the brands was really their downfall, especially since the typical moving-up-through-the-brands-as-you-grow-older model never really worked as intended. Why would someone buy a Mercury when they could just stick with their Ford for a little longer and finally be able to afford a Lincoln? Why would someone buy a sporty Pontiac when Chevrolet and even Buick had some equally sporty cars? I remember reading Iacocca's autobiography and he recommended a merger between Chrysler and Ford, saying that the former would build smaller cars and the latter would build larger cars and tbh that would probably get rid of a lot of redundancy within corporations, but that's a whole nother topic for another day. All I know is that I like my Buicks and my sh*tty Skylark served me well at my job and I prefer comfort over performance

 

Speaking of car rebadging, how funny would it be if they ruined the Sabre's heritage by adding in a Cutlass Ciera and calling it a Sabre Siera or w/e
